final update to parents regarding procedures for checkingout your child(ren) in the case of a declared emergency. The Student Release Center will be located under thearches on Addison Avenue barring any structural damage(in which case there will be signs redirecting parents toanother pick up area). Students will be released to onlythose individuals listed on the emergency card. Theemergency cards were generated in late August byprinting the information uploaded by parents on InfiniteCampus. Therefore, it is essential for all parents tobe aware of the emergency contacts listed in yourchild's Infinite Campus profile. The person picking upyour child from the Student Release Center needs to beidentified by either their driver's license, a staff member, the child, or information listed on the emergency card. Therefore, if you would like to edit or add persons to yourchild's 201415 emergency card for pick up during adeclared emergency, please stop in the front office at anytime throughout the year to revise. The auction is done, the bills havebeen settled and the final numbers arein! As you have probably heard againand again, the auction is the largestfundraiser for the school. Why do weneed a fundraiser and what does itprovide? The funds raised by the PTAsupplement the state and the districtfunds to the school.Approximately 80% of the funds areused for school supplies, equipment, library and classroom books, field tripsand teacher training programs. This is what makes PAUSD,well PAUSD. PTA funds pay for the assemblies you hear about, theenrichment programs, and the buses that take our kids tothe various field trips. Most importantly, the auction andevents hosted by the PTA such as the hoedown, Halloweenbreakfast, family nights, Ice skating parties and field day, amongst many others, make this a rich community. Wehave all heard that it takes a village to raise a child. Wellfolks, here it is. This community is what builds thecamaraderie amongst us and our children. So thank youHilary Gudgel, Catherine Matterson and their team formaking it possible. This year we raised approximately $108,000 afterexpenses. At a time when we are faced with inflation atevery corner, this team managed to cut costs with DIYdecorations and invitations, adding to the hours ofvolunteer time they had already invested.
