Is there a possibility to have an extension for this project? We have a number of projects closing and Pre-Con meetings scheduled for March 10th. Answer: The closing date has been extended to March 17, 2020.

4. Question: Please provide a complete geotechnical report for review and consideration of tender document along with Analytical. Answer: Refer to Attachment C of the Request for Tender for the geotechnical report. Refer to Attachment G for the soil sampling report detailing the “Analytical” results.

5. Question: Please comment on existing condition of existing culvert in detail if possible Answer: Based on a CCTV inspection of the existing 2100mm diameter CSP culvert performed in February 2018, the culvert appears to be in good condition in the area of the proposed storm sewer tie-ins. The staining on the interior, indicative of the normal water level is well below the elevation of the proposed tie-ins. There is some pipe deformation but this is not anticipated to be a concern relative to the connection installation. Please see a screen shot from the inspection record below.

6. Question: Propose use of a single structure install by means of cutting and removal of existing CSP section and realignment of 600mm and 375mm to eliminate deflection of connections due to angle of CSP Answer: Alteration of the exiting CSP culvert, other than for the proposed tie-ins will not be permitted. Please price the work based on the scope provided.

7. Question: Provide flow rates of CSP if data is available to allow estimation of potential dewatering if single structure is permitted. Answer: At the time of the CCTV video, in February 2018, the flow was noted to be approximately 10% full in the existing pipe. Under normal conditions, the flow in the pipe is not anticipated to impact the proposed storm tie-ins.

8. Question

Full road closure is permitted in this area Answer: Yes. Ten (10) days will be permitted for a full road closure between Mergl Drive and Lakeside Lane to complete all necessary work in that area.

9. Question Is the road to be backfilled with native material displaced from excavations to road granular sub base as per geo-tech report to be issued? Answer: Yes, where the existing materials are suitable for use as backfill. Please note that there is an anticipated volume of 375 cubic metres of excess road base resultant from the Part 1 work on Elm Avenue, Kiwanis Avenue, and Maple Boulevard (see Appendix B – Schedule of Items and Prices – Part 1 – Item B.5) that may also be used for this purpose.
