Weather Policy The Adaptive Recreation Program staff realizes that weather can be aconcernforourparticipants.AdecisiontocancelactivitieswillbemadebyAdaptiveRecreationstaffby2:00p.m.Ifweatherconditionsdeterioratelaterintheday,everyattemptwillbemadetocontactyou.However,youmayalsocontactourofficeat651-793-6635tosee ifamessagewas leftpertainingtotheweatherandtheprogramsscheduledforthatday.Ifnomessageisleft,activitiesareonasscheduled.Mostimportantly,weencourageparents,grouphomes, participants, etc. touse yourbest judgment indeterminingyourattendanceofanactivitywhenweatherconditionsarequestionable.
Participant Wellness Notfeelingwell?Intheconsiderationofyourhealthaswellasthehealthofothers,andtospeedupyourrecoverytime,pleaserefrainfromattendingprogramswhenanyofthefollowingconditionsexist:feverof100degreesorhigher,vomitingwithinthelast24hours,persistentdiarrheainconjunctionwithothersymptoms,contagiousrashorrashofunknownorigin,persistentcoughand/orcoldsymptoms,“PinkEye”strepthroat,flu,etc. Stayhome,restandyou’llbebetterandbacktoenjoyAdaptiveRecreationactivitiesinnotime.Thankyouforunderstanding!Bewell.

Group Home Policy: Foractivitieswithlimitedregistration:Toallowequalopportunitytoparticipateinactivitiesandpreventanyoneresidencefromdominatingourprograms,onlytwoparticipantsfromthesameaddressmayattend.Theseparticipantscanindividuallyselectprogramsofinterestandsociallyinteractwithpeerswhomtheydon’tnormallymeetorlivewith.Ifspaceisavailableaftertheregistrationdeadlinedateofaprogram,wemayallowmoreresidentsintothatprogram.However,untilthathasbeenestablished,weareunabletoacceptmorethantwoindividualsintothesamesession. Program Placement Guidelines: Individualsmustbeabletoparticipateindependentlywithinthestatedstaff/participantratioorsupplyapersonalaideinordertotakepartsuccessfullyinappropriateprograms. Registration Confirmation:ONLYiftheclassregistrationhasfilledoraclasshasbeencanceled,willyoubecontactedbyphone(andvoicemailswillbeleft).Acreditmaybeaddedtoyouraccount. Credit on your Account: Ifyoufeelyouhaveacreditonyouraccountduetoanoverpaymentorcanceledevent,pleasecontacttheAdaptiveRecreationofficewitharequesttocheckforyou. Refund Policy:Allrefundsmustberequestedpriortothedateoftheeventorfirstclassmeeting.Refundswillnotbeissuedforanyreasonforanysingleregistrationcosting$10orless.Refundsforclasses/eventscostingmorethan$10willbereducedby$10.Ifyouaresignedupforaspecialeventwhereticketsarepurchasedinadvance,youwillbechargedthefullamountoftheticketunlesssomeoneonthewaitinglistcantakeyourplace.ExceptionswillbegrantedonlyifAdaptiveRecreationisunabletoprovidetheserviceforwhichthefeeswerepaid,forexample:classiscanceledorclassisalreadyfilled. Drop-Off and Pick-Up Policy:Wecanprovidesupervisionforparticipantsonlyduringthelistedactivityhours.Wewillnotberesponsibleforparticipantswhoarriveearlyorareleftwaitingfortransportationafterthescheduledactivityends.Pleaseplanaccordingly-haveridessetsuptobeontime. Integration/Inclusion Opportunities:Inclusionallowsindividualswhohavedisabilitiestheopportunitytoparticipateinrecreationprogramswithnon-disabledpeers.AdaptiveRecreationwillmakeeveryreasonableefforttohelpresidentswithdisabilitiesparticipateintheprogramsofferedbytheCityofSt.Paul.Toensureasafe,positiveinclusionexperience,AdaptiveRecreationstaffwillhaveadiscussionwitheachparticipantandtheirparents/guardianstogettoknowtheparticipant’sdesires,abilitiesandneedspriortothebeginningoftheprogram.
