in the field of modern radars and related technology. Area of specialization includes Passive Phased Array radars, Active

Phased array Radars, Radar Signal processing and imaging Radars. Contributed in design and development of technologically advanced radar

systems and their integration with weapon systems.

which are engaged in ensuring safety and reliability of airborne stores used by Indian Armed Forces

He is taking over as Director, DEBEL, Bangalore from 01st Jan 2015. Started his career in ATV project, Vizag in 1989, moved to NSTL in

1992 He moved to RCI in 2001 Presently, he is holding the post of Project Director in Programme

AD.

Engineering Graduate has done MBA (Marketing) Holds an MPhil in Defence Strategic Studies from Madras University PG Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights from NLSUI Joined HAL in 1980 as a Management Trainee He rose to the position of General Manager (Aircraft Division) and was

appointed as Director (Design & Development) with effect from 4th January, 2012.

Also holding additional charge of Managing Director (Helicopter Complex) from 1st June 2013

Has been named as the next Chairman of HAL from February 2015 to August 2018.

Dr. K Karunakar Emeritus Scientist & Technical Adviser, ADA

Phd in Engineering from IISc, Bangalore. Dr KK joined NAL, Bangalore in 1970 Joining ADA in 1988 worked in the area of Aerospace Electronics

(Hardware & Software), control systems and control electronics. Joined ADA as DPD in 1988 for FCS for LCA and Independent

Test and Evaluation of LCA Software Systems. Responsible for establishing a full-fledged Independent Verification

& Validation Laboratory at ADA with advanced CASE tools and computing facility in 1992.

He has evolved methods and techniques to test to evaluate 19 software systems of LCA.

Also using these techniques he had independently tested and evaluated AGNI-I and AGNI-IImissile software systems.

Dr Karunakar has won several prestigious awards and has a number of publications to his credit.

significantly towards realization of the first Satellite for Education, EDUSAT

M.Sc. (Physics) from Agra College, Agra, India. M.Tech. from IISc, Bangalore, India in 1978. He joined ISRO Satellite Centre, Bangalore. He worked with the

Control Systems Group and designed first Micro-processor based Control Systems for SROSS (Stretched Rohini Satellite Series) satellites.

Pioneer in designing Automated Test Systems He had many functional positions during his long career at ISRO. He was Deputy Project Director for Chandrayaan-1 project and was

awarded for the Team Excellence Award. He was Group Head, Control Systems, ISRO Satellite Centre, Bangalore.

Currently, he is Deputy Director of Reliability and Components Area of ISRO Satellite Centre and s leading the team to achieve zero defect in spacecrafts like MOM and others.

He has more than 30 papers to his credit in Conf/journals.

development. Development of solid state recorder is an excellent indigenous state

of the art system Played a pivotal role in MARS Orbiter Mission (MOM). Instrumental in configuring and designing Telemetry, Tele

Command, Data handling System. He was the chairman of Standing review committee for the MOM several publication both in national and at international journals. Bestowed with several awards for his outstanding contributions in

space craft electronics which includes data compression, encryption, CCSDS command system and solid state recorders.
