May 2021
Adams County ISU Extension and Outreach is sponsoring Ad-ams County 4-H youth attending 2021 Iowa 4-H Youth Confer-
ence! Youth must attend and then work with Evy to share their experience to receive the $50 sponsorship!
What is State Conference? This is an opportunity for 4-H youth to gather on the Iowa State campus for a full day of engaging speakers, educational workshops, teambuilding, service-learning, networking, and experiencing cam-pus life. Dive into your own passions and learn by doing while you have fun! Kids interested in animal science should look into the Animal Sci-ence Round Up option, which is species specific. How do I get there? This year a charter bus will transfer Adams County youth from and back to Red Oak! (There are other pick up stops, too!) This transportation is being offered free of charge. How do I register? Log into your 4HOnline account and under your membership pro-file choose “Events” from the left menu and register from there.
Call Extension with any questions!
Do You Have an Animal? You Need YQCA!
Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) is a yearly require-ment for youth ages 8-21 showing pigs, cattle, sheep, goats, rab-
bits, and poultry at Fair. The certification program focuses on food safety, animal well-being, and character awareness.
→ Adams County 4-H will offer an in-person training in March, the cost is $3/attendee.
→ Online certification costs $12/attendee; you will need to be pre-pared to pay for the cost when you register in the online YQCA sys-
tem. Making it even easier, YQCA online certification links with your 4honline account!
1.Go to yqca.learngrow.io 2.Select to Login with 4-H Online
3.Enter your 4-H information 4.Select the 4-H member that you would like to register for YQCA
training (This process has been working for established members, but new
members are experiencing difficulties due to the new 4honline system. Please let our office know if you encounter difficulties.)
Complete your YQCA training by May 15.
Please make sure to check your selected t-shirt size in your
4honline profile! Fair show shirts will be ordered
