NARIC recognition
Officially recognised by NARIC* as comparable to A-Level
• Universities worldwide and UK NARIC (National Recognition Information Centre)
formally recognises the NCUK International Foundation Year as a comparable level to
GCE A Level, Australian high school (SSCE), and American high school (AP)
qualifications.
• NARIC for example, found that the IFY programme "is considered comparable to the
overall GCE A level standard" and there is an "emphasis on the development of key
transferrable skills such as critical thinking, organisational and ICT skills.
*UK NARIC is the UK’s National Recognition Information Centre and provides services for individuals and organisations advising on
comparisons of international qualifications against UK qualification framework levels.

What is the NCUK International Foundation Year (IFY)?
What will I be studying?
* Just like the UK A-level qualification, you choose three
modules to study depending on which degree you would
like to take at university.
* As well as three modules from the list, all IFY students will
study one of the following modules which are designed to
ensure all students get to university with the required high
standard of English language skills.
