Welcome to the Quarterly Issue of Executive EducationNewsletter. This newsletter contains the activity of ExecutiveEducation during September - December 2018 academicperiod.
In 2018 Executive Education has developed and delivered anumber of professional development programs for 401 professionals in total. This year our programs’ participantswere 151 junior, mid career and senior professionals from5 different government agencies, 216 junior professionals,mid level and senior managers from 9 organizations inbusiness sector in Azerbaijan and 34 diplomats and civilservants from 32 European, Asian and African countries.
Custom Programs
During this academic period, we continued close cooperationwith corporate and government sectors and delivered anumber of professional development programs for AzerGold,PASHA Holding, PASHA Bank, PASHA Life Insuranceand Azerbaijan International Development Agency ofMinistry of Foreign Affairs (AIDA).
On September 17-18, a training program on "ProjectManagement" by Mr. Anar Imamverdiyev, Project Manager,BP Azerbaijan was delivered for 20 mid-level professionals ofAzerGold, covering a set of comprehensive and practical toolsand techniques to identify clear project objectives anddetailed project requirements, manage project constraints

including scope, quality, cost and time.
During September 25 - October 10, Executive Educationconducted "Capacity Building Program" for 19 mid-levelprofessionals of PASHA Holding which consisted of 3different modules.
On September 25-26, "Understanding leadership: LeadershipStyles" and "People and Conflict Management" programswere held for 13 employees of PASHA Holdingby Ms. Shamsiyya Mustafayeva, Coordination Analyst, UNRCO and Ms. Lala Abdurahmanova, Independent Trainer,respectively. These programs allowed participantsto recognize their own leadership style, identify weaknessesand strengths in emotional intelligence, sharpen theirknowledge on managing conflicts, strategies to resolveconflicts and hone key competencies of delegation.
On October 2-3, "Teamwork and Cooperation" and "Timemanagement" programs were conducted for 12 professionalsof PASHA Holding by Ms. Lala Abdurahmanova,Independent Trainer. The programs enabled participants toidentify areas of their job where time could be better utilizedand encouraged them to build positive and productive teamworking in the workplace.
On October 9-10, 14 mid-level professionals of PASHAHolding successfully completed "Effective Communicationand Presentation Skills" program by Ms. ShamsiyyaMustafayeva, Coordination Analyst, UN RCO. 3rd module ofthe program gave a unique chance to participants to

strengthen their knowledge on communication styles,influencing techniques and a range of key skills necessary formaking a compelling and engaging presentation, andstrategies to identify barriers to effective communications.
During this academic period, "Management and LeadershipDevelopment Program" was delivered for 48 junior and mid-level employees of PASHA Bank. The 24-hour trainingprogram incorporated 3 core topics such as "People andConflict Management", "Communication Skills" and "TimeManagement and Stress Management".
On October 15, 17 and 29, three different groups ofemployees of PASHA Bank attended "People and ConflictManagement" program by Ms. Lala Abdurahmanova,Independent Trainer. By taking part in this hands-ontraining, participants identified factors which give riseto conflict situations, preventive measures to keep them fromoccurring and steps to effectively resolve conflicts and turnthem into win-win situations and learned to hone keycompetencies of motivating and inspiring others.
On November 14-16, "Communication Skills" program wasorganized for the same groups of employees of PASHA Bankby Ms. Shamsiyya Mustafayeva, Coordination Analyst, UNRCO. This highly interactive training program focused onidentification of communication styles, exploring theimportance of emotional intelligence and active listening oncommunicating with others and tips how feedback can

improve performance. The program will be concluded with "Time Management and
Stress Management" program by Ms. Lala Abdurahmanova,Independent Trainer, in January of 2019.
On October 18-19, 20 mid-level employees of AzerGoldactively participated in "Advanced Leadership Skills"program by Ms. Shamsiyya Mustafayeva, CoordinationAnalyst, UN RCO. The program enhanced participants'knowledge on differences between leaders and managers, therole of emotional intelligence in leading teams and offered aset of exercises improving specific leadership skills.

On October 22, 24 and November 5, "Management andLeadership Development Program" was held for 18 mid-levelemployees of PASHA Life Insurance by Ms. ShamsiyyaMustafayeva, Coordination Analyst, UN RCO and Ms. LalaAbdurahmanova, Independent Trainer. Havingencompassed different topics such as leadership styles,emotional intelligence, effective delegation, motivationalmanagement, change management and giving constructivefeedback, the 24-hour program provided participants withdeeper understanding of managerial effectiveness andessential skills to effectively lead, engage and develop theteam. Through skill building exercises and group discussions,participants explored tools, techniques to perform their roleand manage their emotions with confidence and positiveresults.
Government Programs
On November 10-30, for the first time in its long-standinghistory, Executive Education launched its Advanced ForeignService Program for Foreign Diplomats within the frameworkof joint cooperation with Azerbaijan InternationalDevelopment Agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of

Azerbaijan. The program brought together a group of 17 mid-level diplomats from different Asian and African countries,covering 5 core topics on Leadership Development, PublicDiplomacy, International Politics, Law and Organizations,Azerbaijani Studies, and Economic Affairs which weredelivered by a number of distinguished professors from ADAUniversity, high-ranking officials, eminent trainers and guestspeakers. As a part of the program, participants had a chanceto make study tours to ASAN Service, Parliament, HeydarAliyev Center, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Baku InternationalSea Trade Port, Sangachal Oil Terminal, Ministry ofEconomy and State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan, as well ashistorical and cultural places. At the end of the program,participants were awarded with certificates of programcompletion.
