In a letter dated Feb 24, 1975, to all participating dentists, the New York City department of health has advised that use of the Sargenti Technique for pulpal treatment is not and will not be authorized or paid for in the foster care dental program. mMsjor provider sets reduced rates for Sargenti method. The new table for allowance for dental procedures from US Administrators (a major in- surance provider) sets reduced allow- able rates for the Sargenti method. Rates for root canal therapy are one canal, $75; two canals, $90; and three or more canals, $125. For the Sargenti method, rates are $25 for one canal, $30 for two canals, and $40 for three or more canals. mCalifornia FDA stops distribution of N2. On May 7, 1975, B. M. Ward, assistant chief, food and drug section of the California department of health, reported that the department has taken the position that N2 and related compounds are not generally recognized as safe and effective, and therefore cannot be distributed legally by a manufacturer in California. mCDA takes action on N2. On May 30, the California Dental Associ- ation House of Delegates adopted the following resolution: Resolved, that a letter be sent to the membership notifying them of the position taken by the United States Food and Drug Administration and the California food and drug section of the depart- ment of health concerning N2 and related compounds."
