JoAnn,
RFI 230 - Chiller Heat Tape
o The spec on 23 64 30 calls for heat tape on the chiller evaporator to be installed to prevent freezing. The
heat tape was provided with the chiller, but it requires 120V power to operate. The chiller is provided with a
single power point connection for operating components of the chiller, however, the heat trace tape is an
accessory and is not included with the single point power connection. Reasoning for this is so that if the
disconnect to the chiller was ever turned off the power to the heat trace tape would still be on. The 120V
power for the heat tape did not show up on the electrical plans for the electrician to provide. We were
directed by IMEG to connect the circuit for the heat tape to panel NLJA which was the closest one available
for 120V. This was an extra cost for B&B since it was not shown on their plans.
RFI 231 - UPS Sub Panel
o We needed to add two circuits to the UPS-0 panel for 13 power injectors for the exterior cameras. UPS-
O panel was completely full with the added circuits needed for the security and with moving circuits from
emergency OLHA to UPS. The most economical fix for this was to add a sub panel since there was room to
add with the original panel. This allowed for future space as well which was a concern with the IT
department.
