SMJO big band brings together some of the UK's finest jazz musicians under the leadership of saxophonist Edward Leaker. The band is often found providing musical accompaniment for jazz singer Clare Teal. Their repertoire consists of big band favourites as played by the likes of Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Thad Jones, Buddy Rich, Sammy Nestico and Glenn Miller as well as modern pop arrangements and latin jazz for dancing. Since the band formed in 2010 the audience response has been staggering with a string of sell out concerts to their name.

The musicians’ collective experience is truly exceptional. Between them they have performed for some of the top musical groups in the country including: Piccadilly Dance Orchestra, Strictly Come Dancing Live Band, National Youth Jazz Orchestra (NYJO), Rat Pack National Touring Shows, BBC Big Band, RPO, LSO, Syd Lawrence Orchestra and literally hundreds of smaller bands.

The band’s repertoire consists of big band favourites as played by the likes of Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Thad Jones, Buddy Rich, Sammy Nestico and Glenn Miller as well as modern pop arrangements and latin jazz for dancing.

The Alligators Genre: Rock ’n’ Roll

Description: Five piece band

The Alligators are one of the top Rock 'n' Roll bands in the Southwest so if you want your event to go with a swing these guys are for you, they can also turn their hand to close harmony numbers, particularly in the 60s sets - Hollies, Searchers. Indeed they now frequently share the bill with the name bands from that era.

While still preserving its reputation as a full bore Rock & Roll band, performing the songs of all the greats - Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Holly, and of course Elvis - the band has developed a large following on the 60s circuit at venues up and down the country.
