24 Now when the high priest and the captain of the temple and the chief priests heard these things, they doubted of them whereunto this would grow. 25 Then came one and told them, saying, Behold, the men whom ye put in prison are standing in the temple, and teaching the people.

26 Then went the captain with the officers, and brought them without violencewithout violence: for they feared the people, lest they should have been stoned. 27-28 And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them, say-ing, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this Name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this Man's Blood upon usthis Man's Blood upon us.

They brought His BloodHis Blood upon themselves.

29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than menWe ought to obey God rather than men.

But what if I lose my job?

God is our ProviderGod is our Provider..

What if they beat me?

God is our HealerGod is our Healer.

What if they kill me?

God will take us to HeavenGod will take us to Heaven.

The apostles showed us how to respondhow to respond to threats.

They showed true couragecourage.They had prayed for boldness to preach in the

God filledfilled them with His Holy SpiritHis Holy Spirit.

completely under His influenceHis influence.

His power can make you what you ought to be;

His blood can cleanse your heart

and make you free;

His love can fill your soul, and you will see

’Twas best for Him to have His way with thee.
