HELPS Home Safety Equipment - Discounted home safety equipment is available for purchase from your local childrens centre reception. Items inlcude safety gates, cupboard catches, First Aid kits and more. Please contact your childrens centre or visit https://www.facebook.com/haltonhelps/ for more information.
Unicef Baby Friendly Award- Halton children’s centres welcome you to feed your baby where ever you feel most comfortable. Our children’s centre team are able to provide you with support and advice about any aspect of feeding your baby from milk to solids and onwards. We may also signpost you to other services or professional who can give you information if we feel you need further help. We recommend this website for information about feeding your child from 0-5 years: www.firststepsnutrition.org
Families Information Service - Offer information about Ofsted registered childcare providers in your local area including childminder and nursery prices and vacancy information. Please contact them on 0151 511 7375.
Do you have a 2 year old? - You may be eligible for up to 15 hours of FREE childcare per week. To find out if you are eligible, you can speak to a member of the children’s centre team or contact 0151 511 7395.
Healthy Start Vouchers & Vitamins - Come to the children centre to collect an application form, to find out if you qualify to receive Healthy Start vouchers. You will then need see your midwife or Health Visitor to get the form validated. Vouchers can be used to buy fresh or frozen fruit and veg and milk. If you qualify, you can also get FREE vitamins for your 0-4 year old by presenting your voucher at any Halton Children’s Centre. If you don’t receive Healthy Start Vouchers, vitamins can still be purchased from the centres for £1.60 per bottle.
Aqua Babes - Registered families are eligible for up to 3 months of discounted Vouchers for Aqua Babes at a cost £1 per session. This 3 months starts from the date of your first visit. Discounted vouchers are available from your children’s centre reception. Families may continue to access the Aquababes sessions at full cost after this period by paying on arrival at Kingsway Leisure Centre.
Baby Clothes Swap Shop - In addition to children’s clothing clothes, we also accept donations of nappies, baby toiletries, jars / packets of unopened baby foods, toys and baby equipment in good, clean condition. If you have a larger item to donate, Please contact Gemma as we don’t have storage for lots of big items. Please contact Gemma with enquiries.
