1 BIRLA VIDYA NIKETAN Sarala Birla Group of Schools Activity Report- APRIL, 19 EVENTS/ACTIVITIES AT BVN DATE EVENT DESCRIPTION ATTENDED BY 5 th April, 19 World Health Day To sensitive healthy habits, multifarious activities like debates and poster making were conducted to increase awareness regarding several health issues and the strategies to deal with them and chalk out preventive measures. Students of class VI, VII 6 th April, 19 Orientation Programme Parents were oriented and were given general guidelines for the smooth functioning of academics and wellbeing of their wards. Parents were guided about the evaluation scheme for the year. Important areas of discipline and various programmes conducted by the school throughout the year. The school counselor Ms. Pallavi enlightened the audience on the psychological development of the children in the transitional period. Parents of class VI to VIII 8 th to 12 th April, 19 Maths Week Mathematics week was held. Students did inter disciplinary project on Poster or Book Cover of maths in a group of two. Inter house activity was conducted where each class did the activity on Tessellation. Also the class XII students took Workshops on maths they taught different topics to the the students of Class VII. Lastly an Exhibition was put up to display the maths work done by students. 18th April, 19 World Heritage Day

Environment club students participated in a Heritage Walk on the occasion of World Heritage Day. Walking in the nature on a guided tour of Sunder Nursery. Students were given information on the tree species, vermi composting, organic composting and the heritage of Delhi. Covering the stretch of 7.5 kilometres in the early morning hours. Students felt rejuvenated.

20th April, 19 Talent Show Students had their talent show on the topic ‘Know my country’. Students performed various activities like dance, sang patriotic songs, recited poems and played guitar, tabla, casio etc. It was a fun filled learning experience for them.

24th April, 19 Interaction with the Japanese Delegation

A Japanese Delegation from Gram Inc. Tokyo Japan visited BVN. They had an interactive session with the students. They introduced a book called KAGAKURU which means ‘science is coming’. It contained scientific facts illustrated in an interesting manner through pictures and graphics in a comic style.

sections of class VI by the science students of class XII. Ranging from pressure and surface tension, to rare flowers and animals of planet earth to artificial intelligence and its uses, broad spectrum coverages were offered at these workshops. Follow up by quizzes and question- answer sessions made it interactive.

BVN An interschool science activity workshop was conducted by resource person Mrs Pragya Nopany. Selected students of six prominent South Delhi schools participated. Students performed hands-on activities and innovative thinking was encouraged. They also gave a presentation of the work done by then.

ATL Community Day

Springdales School, Pusa Road

Various models showcased like burglar alarm using ultrasonic sensor, voice recorder, electrostatic sparking, and model of DNA etc. Students got to see their own DNA with the help of simple activity explained by their teacher. A very informative session on ‘Cyber Security and Etiquettes’ was conducted by Ms. Nidhi Tiwari.

Principal attended the conclave where the CBSE Director-Academics and Padamshree JSSF Rajput, former Director, NCERT were extremely encouraging to make the teaching approaches in schools conducive for creating inquisitive and research oriented children. Visit to Kyari Village

Uttarakhand Students went for an educational trip. Activities performed Day 1- Body surfing, team building activities, basket and rope making. Day 2- nature walk, visit to the local school, meeting with the village surpanch, lunch hunt (lunch with local people in their homes), farming activities, ploughing, seeding, transplanting. Day 3-Mountain trek, visited Brahmandeshwari temple about 1200m above sea level.
