    See you there

In a world of change there are few thingsthat remain the same and one thing thathas stayed the same is that children wanttheir fathers. What we have found is thatweek days are okay for some fathers toattend groups with their children howeversome still nd it difcult to attend duringthe week so we have decided to put on agroup on Saturday.

The group will run once a month, the lastSaturday of the month. So come along withyour child stay and play in a welcomingand child friendly environment. We have anexperienced facilitator who will be able tosupport and give advice when needed; youwill also be able to meet male carers justlike you. Taking care of your general health

as well as your teeth is the key tomaking the most of your smile.

Brushing your teeth twice a daywith toothpaste, ossing them dailyand having regular check-ups witha dentist can help keep your teethhealthy. But diet, smoking anddrinking alcohol also have an effecton dental health.

Limiting the amount of sugar you andyour family eat and drink is importantto prevent tooth decay. Have sugaryfood and drink only at mealtimes anddont eat sugary snacks betweenmeals. This is especially important inyoung children and babies.

It is also important you brush yourteeth in the right way. See the NHSchoice website for more details.

We have a food van which is situatedin Larkswood School on Tuesdaybetween where low cost fruit and vegcan be bought.

If you want any information on speechand language, dietician or anythingelse for your children under 5 yearsplease contact us on 020 8496 1551and we will do our best to help.

Im sure you know howgood breast milk is for yourbaby. The rst weeks milkis vital for supporting theirimmune systems, makingtheir digestive system work

smoothly. It works as theprimary mum-child bondingattachment factor whichhelps baby to feel safeand secure.

Did you know how breastfeeding is good for you? First ofall it helps to restore your bodyback to pre-pregnancy as thebody is able to recover quickly.

Secondly, the researchersdiscovered breastfeedingspositive impact in preventingthe breast and ovarian cancers.

Thirdly, helps to overcomepost birth/natal depressionand builds self-condence.

Breastfeeding can be verychallenging at rst for most, but I urge you to not give upat the rst hurdle and you andyour family will benet.

And nally, did you know thatmen can breastfeed? Especiallythese days as there arenumerous ways to express milkso that the feeding experiencecan be shared by both parents.

Its your choice as a parent and

we are here to support you. Wehave a breastfeeding worker tohelp you through those rst fewdays and weeks so you are noton your own.
