A REPORT on RDF
Greetings from the Rural Development Foundation!
CEO Note:
The year 2014-15 has been a tremendous year of development and achievement for RDF. Ever since RDF
instituted its first school 19 years ago, opportunities to do what we do better, with the help of our donors
and partners have presented themselves at every turn. We are very proud that our School and Head Office
teams have worked tirelessly to adapt to changes and take on new challenges!
We strive forward with confidence due to your support as we continue on our journey to Educate, Engage
and Empower rural children.
We are glad to share RDF progress in the past two years. The functioning style of RDF is going through a
metamorphosis in major areas. All four RDF schools have successfully initiated transition of medium of
instruction from Telugu to English with the support of Silver Oaks and later by Ratna Sagar publishers. RDF
has added one more feather in its cap by signing an MOU with Tech Mahindra Foundation (TMF) to extend
services to Government schools. The senior staff and alumni of RDF are extending all support to the project
that is being funded by TMF.
Three schools proved their mettle in exhibiting and winning Inspire awards for their working model exhibits
and for proving the concept. All four schools are marching away from C grade towards B+ and A grades after
successfully implementing Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation method (CCE). In this system each child is
assessed continuously for participation, tasks completion, on a day to day basis. The teaching staff had the
opportunity this year for training in CCE by the resource persons of the Education department. Setting up
of English Language labs are in the pipeline in the schools at Kalleda and Matendla by June 2015. Tech
Mahindra Supported Govt. School in which RDF is implementing School Based Quality Improvement
Program has received recognition and been chosen as a model for Arise schools concept of TMF.
We have also excelled in the field of sports. G Praneetha, RDF alumna, won a Gold medal in team and a
silver medal in individual events at the Asian Archery Championship. Naveen from Class 10, RDF Matendla
school won a Gold medal at National Taekwondo Championship. Bhagyamma, earlier with RDF and later
admitted into the Sports School, was selected by the Indian Football Academy along with 21 members in the
under 14 category, 2015. So far, twenty two children from RDF schools have moved to Sports School,
through their selection criteria and are exhibiting their talent in different category of sports.
With this note, I would like to thank all those who contributed in any manner augmenting to the prosperity
of the organization that is aimed to impact the lives of rural poor and the deprived lot.
