A. Commemoration of birth/death anniversaries and National/International
days of importance
1. Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Jyotiba Fule: 11th April 2018
The event was organized by Miss. Manisha Gujar in the Administrative building of the institute and
was attended by the staffs of the institute. The portrait of Mahatma Jyotiba Fule was garlanded by Dr.
S G Narwade and Dr. H M Paikrao followed by offering flower and prayer by all the attendees. The
programme was concluded by a speech of Miss Manisha Gujar on the contributions of Mahatma
Jyotiba Fule.
2. Birth Anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar: 14th April 2018
The event was organized in the Administrative building of the institute and was attended by the staffs
of the institute. The event was started with the garlanding of the portrait of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar
by the Director Dr. S G Gupta followed by offering flower and prayer by all the attendees. The
programme was concluded by a speech of Dr. H M Paikrao on the contributions of Dr. Babasaheb
Ambedkar.
3. Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Bashweshwar Maharaj: 18th April 2018
The event was organized by Mr. F Y Shaikh in the Administrative building of the institute and was
attended by the staffs of the institute. The event was started with the garlanding of the portrait of
Mahatma Bashweshwar Maharaj by the Director Dr. S G Gupta followed by offering flower and prayer
by all the attendees. The programme was concluded by a speech of Miss Anju Pakhale on the
contributions of Mahatma Bashweshwar Maharaj.
4. Birth Anniversary of Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj: 26th June 2018
The event was organized by Mr. Abhijeet Sarkar in the Administrative building of the institute and was
attended by the staffs of the institute and few students. The event was started with the garlanding of
the portrait of Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj by Dr. S G Narwade and Dr. Shobha Pande followed by offering
flower and prayer by all the attendees.
5. Birth Anniversary of Shri Vasantrao Naik: 1st July 2018
The event was organized at the Administrative building of the institute and was attended by the staffs
of the institute and few students. The event started with garlanding of the portrait of Shri Vasantrao
Naik by Dr. S G Narwade and Dr. Shobha Pande followed by offering flower and prayer by all.
6. Birth Anniversary of Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak: 23rd July 2018

flower and prayer by all the attendees. The programme was concluded by the speech of Miss. Radhika
Mankar on the contributions of Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak.
7. Birth Anniversary of Sahityaratna Annabhau Sathe and death anniversary of Lokmanya Bal
Gangadhar Tilak: 1st August 2018
The event was organized by NSS volunteers at the Multipurpose hall of the institute, attended by staffs
and students of the institute. The event started with welcome speech of Miss Radhika Mankar.
Thereafter the portrait of Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Sahityaratna Annabhau Sathe was
garlanded by the Director Dr. Hemlata Wankhede followed by offering flower and prayers by all. The
programme was concluded by the speeches of Miss Sanchali Pawar, Miss Gauri Uplenchawar and Miss
Yogita Chopade on the contributions of these exemplers.
8. Birth Anniversary of Krantisingh Nana Patil: 3rd August 2018
The event was organized at the Multipurpose hall of the institute and was attended by the staffs and
students of the institute. The event garlanding the portrait of Krantisingh Nana Patil by the Director
Dr. Hemlata Wankhede followed by offering flower and prayer by all the attendees. The programme
was concluded by the speeches of Miss Gauri Uplenchawar, Mr. Premjeet Wagh, Mr. Rohit Kakade
and Mr. Laxman Ridde on the contributions of Krantisingh Nana Patil.
9. Independence Day: 15th August 2018
The Independence Day was celebrated jointly by Government Institute of Forensic Science,
Aurangabad and Government Institute of Science, Aurangabad. The event started with a rally by all
the students and staffs of both the institutes. Thereafter the Flag hoisting ceremony was commenced
by the Director Dr. Hemlata Wankhede. The programme was concluded by national anthem.
10. Birth Anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi/ Sadbhawna Diwas/ Communal Harmony day: 20th August
2018
The event was organized by the NSS volunteers at the Multipurpose hall of the institute and was
attended by the staffs and students of the institute. The event was started with the opening speech
of Mr. Mayank Raiborde. Thereafter the portrait of Rajiv Gandhi was garlanded, followed by offering
flower and prayer by all the attendees. Miss Gauri Uplenchawar delivered her speech on the
importance of communal harmony and ways to achieve it. Further, all the attendees had taken the
communal harmony oath administered by Mr. Mayank Raiborde. The programme was concluded with
National Anthem.
11. Birth Anniversary of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan/ Teacher’s day: 5th August 2018
The event was organized by the students at the Multipurpose hall of the institute and was attended
by the staffs and students of the institute. The event was started with the opening speech. Thereafter
the portrait of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan was garlanded by the Director Dr. Hemlata Wankhede,
followed by offering flower and prayer by all the attendees. The programme was concluded with
National Anthem.
12. Birth Anniversary of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay/ Antyoday Diwas : 25th August 2018
The event was organized by the students at the Multipurpose hall of the institute and was attended
by the staffs and students of the institute. The event was started with garlanding the portrait of Pt.
Deendayal Upadhyay by the Director Dr. Hemlata Wankhede, followed by offering flower and prayer
by all the attendees. The programme was concluded with the speeches of students on the
contributions of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay followed by the National Anthem.
13. Birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal bahadur Shastri: 2nd October 2018
The event was organized by the students at the Multipurpose hall of the institute and was attended
by the staffs and students of the institute. The event was started with garlanding the portrait of
Mahatma Gandhi and Lal bahadur Shastri by the Director Dr. Hemlata Wankhede, followed by offering
flower and prayer by all the attendees. The programme was concluded with campus cleaning followed
by the National Anthem.
14. Birth anniversary of Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam, Maharashtra Reading Day and World student’s
Day: 15th October 2018
The event was organized by the students at the Multipurpose hall of the institute and was attended
by the staffs and students of the institute. The event was started with garlanding the portrait of Dr. A
P J Abdul Kalam by Dr. Shobha Pande and Mr. Anurag Sahu, followed by offering flower and prayer by
all the attendees. A reading session was also organized in the library by Mr. R S Chavan where Mr.
Indranil Suryavanshi delivered his speech about the contribution of Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam and the
commemorative activities. The programme was concluded with National Anthem.
15. Birth anniversary of Maharshi Valmiki: 24th October 2018
The event was organized at the Administrative office of the institute and was attended by the staffs
of the institute. The event was started with garlanding the portrait of Maharshi Valmiki by the Director
Dr. Hemlata Wankhede, followed by offering flower and prayer by all the attendees.
16. Birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Death Anniversary of Indira Gandhi: 31st
October 2018
The event was organized at the Multipurpose hall of the institute and was attended by the staffs of
the institute. The event was started with garlanding the portrait of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Indira
Gandhi by the Director Dr. Hemlata Wankhede, followed by offering flower and prayer by all the
attendees. The programme was concluded with the Oath of National Unity administered by Miss Anju
Pakhale followed by the National Anthem.
17. Constitution Day: 26th November 2018
The event was organized at the Multipurpose hall of the institute and was attended by the staffs of
the institute. The event was started with garlanding the portrait of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar by the
Director Dr. Hemlata Wankhede and Dr. S G Narwade, followed by offering flower and prayer by all
the attendees. The programme was concluded with the explanation of preamble of the constitution
by Mr. Rahul Bharati followed by the National Anthem.
18. Death Anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar: 6th December 2018
The event was organized at the Administrative office of the institute and was attended by the staffs
of the institute. The event was started with garlanding the portrait of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar by Dr.
Shobha Pande and Dr. S G Narwade, followed by offering flower and prayer by all the attendees.
19. Birth Anniversary of Savitri Fule: 3rd January 2019
The event was organized by the NSS volunteers at the Multipurpose hall of the institute and was
attended by the staffs and students of the institute. The event was started with garlanding the portrait
of Savitri Fule by Dr. Shobha Pande and Dr. S G Narwade, followed by offering flower and prayer by all
the attendees. Miss. Gouri Upalenchawar and Miss. Ashwini Dhone had delivered their speeches on
the contributions of Savitri Fule. The programme was concluded with the National Anthem.
20. Birth Anniversary of Jijau Maasaheb and Swami Vivekananda: 12th January 2019
The event was organized by the NSS volunteers at the Multipurpose hall of the institute and was
attended by the staffs and students of the institute. The event was started with garlanding the portrait
of Jijau Maasaheb and Swami Vivekananda by Dr. Shobha Pande and Dr. D D Gaikwad, followed by
offering flower and prayer by all the attendees. Miss. Gouri Upalenchawar, Miss Radhika Mankar, Miss
Mayuri Shirsat and Miss. Harshada Wankhede had delivered their speeches on the contributions of
Jijau Maasaheb and Swami Vivekananda.
21. Birth Anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose: 23rd January 2019
The event was organized by the NSS volunteers at the Multipurpose hall of the institute and was
attended by the staffs and students of the institute. The event was started with garlanding the portrait
of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose by the Director Dr. Hemlata Wankhede, followed by offering flower
and prayer by all the attendees.
A. Activities for Social and Environmental cause
1. International Yoga Day: 21st June 2018
The Government Institute of Forensic Science, Aurangabad and the Government Institute of Science,
Aurangabad had jointly organized an event to observe the International Yoga Day at the multipurpose
hall of the Institute. The event had started with the lamp lighting ceremony by the guest, Dr. Charulata
Rojekar, Director yoga therapy centre, Aurangabad. Dr. Rojekar had guided the attendees with the
importance of yoga and yoga for office workers followed by a practice session. The event had
concluded by the National Anthem.
2. Seed ball preparation: 1st July 2018
The event was organized by Sakla Rose Garden at their premise in Vedant Nagar, Aurangabad and was
attended by few staffs and NSS volunteers of the institute. The event was organized to prepare seed
ball so that, those seed balls can be used for plantation to get a higher rate of plantation than the
conventional seeding method. The group of seven people from the institute has prepared more than
1500 seed balls of various species. The programme was concluded by distribution of seedballs and
saplings to the participants.
3. Seed ball and sapling plantation: o2nd July 2018
The event was organized at the institute premise and was attended by all staffs and few students of
the institute. Around 15 saplings and 20 seedballs which were received as gifts from Sakla rose garden
were planted in this event.
4. Seed ball preparation: 16th July 2018
The event was organized by The NSS department of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University,
Aurangabad at their premise and was attended by 10 NSS volunteers of the institute. The event was
organized to prepare seed ball so that, those seed balls can be used for plantation to get a higher rate
of plantation than the conventional seeding method. The programme was concluded by distribution
of saplings to all participated institutes.
5. Plantation drive: 21st July 2018
The event was organized by The NSS department of the institute at the institute premise and was
attended by all the NSS volunteers and staffs of the institute. Around 25 saplings were planted in this
event.
6. Garbage disposal and cleanliness drive: 23rd July 2018
The event was organized on the occasion of Ashadhi Ekadashi jointly by the NSS department of Dr
Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad and CARPE, Aurangabad at Waluj-
Pandharpur, Aurangabad. On the occasion of Ashadhi Ekadashi, several devotees gather to offer their
pray at Waluj Pandharpur and is being fed by several other devotees en route. This results into
generation of huge amount of wastes which needs proper management. Along with other institutes
and colleges 22 NSS volunteers from our institute has volunteered in this event.
7. Fortnight Cleaning drive: 1st August 2018 – 15th August 2018
A 15 days cleanliness campaign was organized by the NSS volunteers from 1st August 2018. The
opening ceremony was organized at the multipurpose hall of the institute and was attended by all the
students and staffs of the institute. Miss Urmila Vaishnav and Mr. Atul Joshi from the Centre for
Applied Research and People Engagement (CARPE) were invited to address the students on the need
and ways to cleanliness. The event was concluded by cleanliness oath administered by Miss Radhika
Mankar. For next 14 days the NSS volunteers had actively participated in the cleaning of classrooms &
laboratories, Institute premise, hostels, nearby colonies, historical monument premises and
conducted awareness campaign through door to door visits and rallies in the nearby settlements.
8. Youth Resolution: 11th August 2018
A youth resolution council on “Rejection of violence, acceptance of humanity” was organized to
commemorate the 5th death anniversary of martyr Dr. Narendra Dabholkar by Vasantrao Naik College,
Aurangabad at their premise. 6 volunteers from our institute has participated in the event.
9. Signature campaign for conservation of historical monuments: 21st and 22nd August 2018
A two-day campaign for the protection of historical monuments was organized by the Aurangabad
Municipal corporation to make people aware about the importance of historical monuments and the
duties for their conservation. The volunteers of our institute had accepted the task and were active
near the bibi ka maqbara. They had added more than one thousand people to this awareness.
10. Seminar on POCSO: 27th August 2018
A one-day seminar on POCSO Act was conducted by Dr. Rafiq Zakaria Women’s college Aurangabad.
Three volunteers from our institute had participated in the event.
11. Surgical strike day: 28th and 29th August 2018
To remember the bravery and valor of Indian soldiers, numerous letters were written by our students
to the Indian Army as a token of gratitude from the fellow Indians. A total of 64 letters were compiled
and delivered to the Army officials of Aurangabad cantonment on 1st October 2018.
12. 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi: 24thth September 2018 to 3rd October 2018
To commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the volunteers of NSS had
dedicated 10 days to get themselves enlightened and spread the philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi. The
initiatives taken by the volunteers includes cleaning of the campus, anti-plastic campaign, anti-
intoxicant campaigns and Organizing lectures & competitions based Gandhiji and Gandhian thoughts.
13. Worlds AIDS Day: 1st December 2018
To make people aware about AIDS, a rally was organized by the NSS department of Dr. Babasaheb
Ambedkar Marathwada University. The rally was attended by the NSS volunteers of the institute.
14. Workshop on Senior citizens and Police: 5th December 2018
A workshop was organized by the Aurangabad Police Department for helping senior citizens for their
social well-being. Few NSS volunteers from our institute had attended this event to help in managing
the workshop.
15. Rally for Parity and peace: 6th December 2018
On the occasion of the death anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, a rally for peace and parity was
organized by the NSS department of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University. The rally was
attended by the NSS volunteers of the institute.
16. National Integration Camp:
One of our NSS volunteer Mr. Mayank Raiborde was selected to participate in the National Integration
Camp organized at the Shivaji University, Kolhapur from 15th to 21st December 2018.
17. Youth Parliament:
A district level competition of mock Parliament was organized by the Yuvak Biradari, Mumbai on 7th
January 2018. The team of students from our institute had participated in the event and placed at the
third position. Miss Pallavi Jaiswal got the first prize for the best solo performance.
18. Project SPARSH:
Two NSS volunteers from our Institute had provided their service at the Army Cantonment,
Aurangabad under the Project SPARSH, launched by the ECHS.
19. campaign on Women Empowerment: 3rd January 2019
On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Savitribai Fule, a campaign on women empowerment was
organized by the NSS unit of Marashtra Anti superstition committee at Dr. (Sow.) I B Pathak Mahila
Kala Mahavidyalaya, Aurangabad. This event was attended by few NSS volunteers of the institute and
Miss. Manisha Gujar.
20. Democracy Fortnight: 26th January to 10th February 2019
The Democracy Fortnight declared by the Election Commission of India was celebrated by the NSS
volunteers of our institute by organizing different activities over the period of 15 days. The activities
included the administration of democracy vote to all the staffs and students of the institute, organizing
street plays at different places for awareness to democracy and election process, organizing various
competitions related to democratic process, organization of rallies and lectures.
21. Camp at adopted village: 26th January to 10th February 2019
A village named Georai- Kuber was adopted by our institute for a period of five years. Every
year, a camp is being organized at this village for a duration of 7 days. For this year, the NSS volunteers
has organized various activities at this village over the period of camping under the theme of Water
conservation and Management. The activities include social awareness on various issues by means of
street plays, rallies, door to door visit, lecture series, etc., Observation and analysis for enhancement
of various natural and biological resources in and around the village, Tree plantation, cleanliness drive,
Organizing health camp etc.
