Mobile EmailActiveSync Set Up Guide for iPad/iPhone
ActiveSync setup is the same for iPhone and iPad. The instructions below have been updated to reflect iOS7. Earlier versions of IOS may be slightly different.
NOTE: Be aware that all new ActiveSync accounts may take up to 15 minutes to set up.
ACTIVESYNC SETUP FOR IPHONE/IPAD
1. From the home screen select Settings, then Mail, Contacts, Calendars, then Add Account.
2. Select Exchange.
3. Fill in the following fields: a. Email: Your Exchange email address (Required). b. Password: Your Exchange email password (Required). c. Description: Description of your choice (Optional) d. Click on Next. ActiveSync will begin verifying email address and password. e. ActiveSync may configure itself at this point and no further configuration may be required.
(If not please proceed to step 4).
You have now successfully configured ActiveSync on your iPhone. You will receive an email in your inbox indicating that your service is temporarily blocked from synchronizing using Exchange ActiveSync and is pending administrative action. No Action is required on your part. This temporary block will automatically clear in about 15 to 20 minutes. Again, no action is required on your part. During this 15-‐20 minute window of time you will not be able to send or receive email. There is no need to open a trouble ticket on this issue unless you are unable to send or receive email via your iOS device after an extended period of time has elapsed since receiving the initial notification.
4. If your service DOES NOT activate in step 3 above please follow the instructions below to
manually complete ActiveSync configuration. Fill in the following fields: a. Email: Your Email address b. Server: email.hostaccount.com c. Domain: COLLABORATION d. User Name: Enter your Windows domain username, found in the Control Panel under
the mailbox you need to setup for this account. • How to find the Windows domain username in the Cloud Control Panel:
Select the Display name of the mailbox:
Find the Windows domain username in the General section:

f. Password: Your Exchange password g. Select Next.
ActiveSync will begin verifying account information.
5. Select the items you would like to sync with Exchange and then select Done.
You have now successfully configured ActiveSync on your iPhone. OTHER IMPORTANT ACTIVESYNC OPTIONS
• Set Schedule for receiving email: Settings | Fetch New Data | Push (On/Off) | Fetch Schedule: 15, 30, Hourly, Manually. “Push/On” = Push. Battery life is impacted the more often you receive email.
• Determine how much email is pulled into each folder: Settings | Mail, Contacts, Calendars | Select Account | Mail Days to Sync (Select the number of days of email to download →3 is the default).
