actian PSQl is one of the most reliable, low maintenance, high-performance database management systems in the world. actian PSQl v11 offers important additions—multi-core optimization, improved backup support with actian Backup agent and VSS, enhanced 64-bit support, updated license administration, iPv6 support and updated developer tools.

NEW Features

Optimized for Multi-core—PSQl v11 is a parallel implementation of PSQl that includes several enhancements for multi-core:

› improvements to the low-level synchronization mechanisms in the transactional interface

› Multiple users can read the same cached file pages simultaneously and their operations can proceed on multiple cores

› Multiple users accessing independent files can proceed on different cores

› non-user activity such as checkpoint and log management can also use additional cores

Full 64-bit—PSQl v11 supports the Btrieve and odBc interfaces on native 64-bit Windows and linux operating systems with 64-bit architecture.

Backup Agent and VSS Support—PSQl v11 offers two choices for managing backups. a Backup agent license is included with each PSQl v11 license (version SP2 or later) and PSQl v11 Server for Windows includes support for Microsoft’s Volume Shadow copy Service (VSS).

Improved License Administration—the license administrator for PSQl v11 offers several new features including self-service repair, license alert messages and troubleshooting tips, built in interval to correct licensing issues before keys are disabled, increased number of authorizations and a counter to help keep track of remaining repairs and authorizations.

Ipv6 Support—PSQl supports iPv6 for Btrieve, dti, odBc, JdBc and ado.nEt. all of these access methods function correctly in an iPv4 environment, an iPv6 environment, or an environment that combines the two. no special configurations of PSQl are required.

AdO.NET provider 4.0—PSQl ado.nEt data Provider 4.0 can run under all .nEt frameworks from 2.0 SP1 to 4.0. data Provider 4.0 includes support for iPv6, Entity framework 4.0 dBcontext functionality, and Visual Studio lightSwitch.

pdAC—the new Pdac SdK includes new compile time binaries for rad Studio XE3 and provides support for 32-bit Pdac through delphi rad Studio XE3.
