DEPARTMENT OF BANKING TECHNOLOGY came into existence to offer a special MBA
programme in banking technology from the academic year 2005-2006. The UGC has sanctioned
this programme under its Innovative and Interdisciplinary Scheme during X th plan.
The need of the programme arose in response to a lot of technology applications and business
innovation taking place in the financial system across the world. The future of banking lies in the technology
and tech savvy managers who have to play a larger role in the organisation and development in this field. To
office the emerging and contemporary needs, the programme aims at producing Managers required to manage
tech embodied financial institutions as well as guiding IT industries to develop domain specific IT products/IT
solutions for finance and banking
