Visitors conditions of entry Conditions of entry

All visitors are required to produce 100 points of identification (one item must be photographic Identification), All visitors aged 16 drover, must acknowledge they have read, understood and agree to these Terms and Conditions by signing the acknowledgement beloW. It is an offence under the Children and Young People Act 2008 for a person to bring a prohibited thing into Bimberi, give Prohibited thing to .a young person or remove a prohibited thing from Biniberi. The penalty is up to 100 penalty units ($10,000), imprisonment for 1 year, or both. All visitors will be subject to eledronid scanningSearch prior to entering the Centre. This may require the temporary removal of for instance footwear, belts, watches arid other jewellery. Any visitor refusing a personal or property search will be refused entry into Bimberi.

Ftequirements for visitor conduct during visits A visitor may store personal effects in the secure lockers provided upon entry. A visitor must corriplY with a direction given by staff not to enter Otto leave the Centre. It is an offence under the Children and Young People Act 200811 a person fails to comply With a direction. The penalty is up to 50 penalty units ($5,000), imprisonment for 6 months or both. A visitor who fails to comply with a direction may be removed by force. A visitor must comply with any conditions for the visit and all lawful directions given by staff during a visit. It is an offence under the Children and Young People Act 2008 if a person fails to comply with a lawful direction. The penalty is up to 50 penalty units ($5,000); Imprisonment for 6 tntinths or both. A Visitor must not engage in physical contact, behaviour or Use language thatmay offend staff, other young people or visitors: A visitor must be considerate of, and not cause disruption to, other Visits. Adult visitors or primary caregivers are responsible for the care and behaviour of any thildrerrbrought into the Centre.

General Information All young people detained at Birtiberi have the right to privacy in accordancewith the Privacy Act1.988 (Cortirtionwealth) and the Children and Young People Act 2008. Any information obtained by a Visitor while at the Centre Must be maintained in accordance With the right. All visits Will be held fin Building 3 - Visitors Centre. Avisitor May be refused if it is deemed or suspected that they are wider the influence of drugs or alcohol. A visitor May be subject to both CCTV and audio inonitoring While at Birnberi•arid a visitor's actions and voite may be recorded. A visitormay be subject to a frisk search, ordinary search or property search after entry to the Centre if the Manager reasonably believes that the search is necessary to ensure the safety of a person at the Centre. A visitor May be giVen'a lawful direction by a YOtith Worker to do or not do something to ensure compliance with these conditions.
