1.3 Installing Acronis True Image HD InstallingandactivatingAcronisTrueImageHDToinstallandactivateAcronisTrueImageHD:

1. Runthesetupfile.2. Read:

3. Ifyouacceptthetermsofbothdocuments,clickInstall.AcronisTrueImageHDwillbeinstalledonyoursystempartition(usuallyC:).

4. Whentheinstallationiscomplete,clickStartapplication.TheAcronisTrueImageHDactivationwindowopens.

5. OntheSignintab,enteryourAcronisaccountcredentials,andthenclickSignin.Ifyoudon'thaveanAcronisaccount,gototheCreateaccounttab,fillouttheregistrationform,andthenclickCreteaccount.Note:Youcanskipthisstepifyouhavea64-characterserialnumber.

6. Enteryourserialnumber,andthenclickActivate.ToactivateAcronisTrueImageHDwitha16-characterserialnumber,youneedanInternetconnection.Thefull64-characterserialnumberwillbeobtainedandactivatedautomatically.

RecoveringfromanAcronisTrueImageHDerrorIfAcronisTrueImageHDceasedrunningorproducederrors,itsfilesmightbecorrupted.Torepairthisproblem,youfirsthavetorecovertheprogram.Todothis,runAcronisTrueImageHDinstalleragain.ItwilldetectAcronisTrueImageHDonyourcomputerandwillaskyouifyouwanttorepairorremoveit.

RemovingAcronisTrueImageHDToremoveAcronisTrueImageHDcomponents:

1. Openthelistofinstalledprogramsandapplications.§ SelectStart->Settings->Controlpanel->Addorremoveprograms.§ IfyouuseWindowsVista,selectStart->Controlpanel->ProgramsandFeatures.§ IfyouuseWindows7,selectStart->ControlPanel->Uninstallaprogram.§ IfyouuseWindows8orWindows10,clicktheSettingsicon,thenselectControlPanel->

Uninstallaprogram. 2. Selectthecomponenttoberemoved.3. Dependingonyouroperatingsystem,clickRemoveorUninstall.4. Followtheinstructionsonthescreen.

Youmayhavetorebootyourcomputerafterwardstocompletethetask.

1.4 Activating Acronis True Image HD TouseAcronisTrueImageHD,youneedtoactivateitviatheInternet.Withoutactivationtheproductworksfor30days.Ifyoudonotactivateitduringthatperiod,alltheprogramfunctionsbecomeunavailableexcepttherecovery.

YoucanactivateAcronisTrueImageHDeitheronyourcomputerorfromanothercomputer,ifyourcomputerisnotconnectedtotheInternet.

ActivationonacomputerconnectedtotheInternetIfyourcomputerisconnectedtotheInternet,theproductwillbeactivatedautomatically.

IfthecomputerwhereyouinstallAcronisTrueImageHDdoesnothaveInternetconnectionoriftheprogramcannotconnecttoAcronisActivationServer,clickAccountonthesidebar,andthenselectoneofthefollowingactions:

§ Tryagain-selectthisoptiontotrytoconnecttotheAcronisActivationServeragain.

§ Activateoffline-youcanactivatetheprogrammanuallyfromanothercomputerthatisconnectedtotheInternet(seebelow).

ActivationfromanothercomputerIfyourcomputerisnotconnectedtotheInternet,youmayactivateAcronisTrueImageHDbyusinganothercomputerwhichhasconnectiontotheInternet.

Toactivatetheproductfromanothercomputer:

1. Onyourcomputer,installandstartAcronisTrueImageHD.2. Onthesidebar,clickAccount,andthenclickActivateoffline.3. IntheAcronisTrueImageHDActivationwindow,perform3simplesteps:

1. SaveyourinstallationcodetoafilebyclickingtheSavetofilebutton,andspecifyaremovablemediaasthefilelocation(forexample,aUSBflashdrive).Youmayalsosimplywritedownthiscodeonapieceofpaper.

2. OnanothercomputerwhichhastheInternetconnection,gotohttp://www.acronis.com/activation/.Theinstructionsonthescreenwillhelpyoutogetyouractivationcodebyusingtheinstallationcode.Savetheobtainedactivationcodetoafileonaremovablemedia,orwriteitdownonpaper.

3. Onyourcomputer,clicktheLoadfromfilebuttonandspecifyapathtothefilewiththeactivationcode;or,simplytypeitintotheboxfromthepieceofpaper.

4. ClickActivate.

"Toomanyactivations"issuePossiblereasonsfortheissue:

§ YouexceedthemaximumnumberofcomputerswithinstalledAcronisTrueImageHD.Forexample,youhaveaserialnumberforonecomputerandyouinstallAcronisTrueImageHDonthesecondcomputer.Solutions:§ Enteranewserialnumber.Ifyoudonothaveit,youcanbuythefullproductversioninthe

Acronisbuilt-instore.§ Movethelicensetoyournewcomputerfromanotheroneonwhichtheproductisalready

activated.Todothis,selectthecomputerfromwhichyouwanttomovethelicense.NotethatAcronisTrueImageHDwillbedeactivatedonthatcomputer.

§ YoureinstallWindows,orchangehardwareofyourcomputer.Forexample,youmightupgrademotherboardorprocessorinyourcomputer.Activationislost,becauseAcronisTrueImageHDseesyourcomputerasanewone.Solution:ToreactivateAcronisTrueImageHDonyourcomputer,choosefromthelistthesamecomputerbyitsoldname.

1.5 Upgrading Acronis True Image HD TopurchaseAcronisTrueImage2016orAcronisTrueImageCloud:

1. StartAcronisTrueImageHD.2. Onthesidebar,clickAccount,andthenclickUpgrade.Thebuilt-instoreopens.3. Selectthelicensethatyouwanttobuy,andthenclickBuynow.

Toaccessthein-appstore,gototheAccounttab,andthenclickUpgrade.Youwillseethein-appstoreandallavailablepurchaseoptions.

1.5.1 Acronis True Image full version features AdvancedfeaturesofAcronisTrueImageareunavailableinyourproductedition.YoucangetthesefeaturesbyupgradingyoureditiontoAcronisTrueImage2016andAcronisTrueImageCloud.Afterupgrade,thefollowingfeatureswillbeavailableforyou:

§ OnlineBackupOnlineBackupallowsyoutostoreyourfilesanddisksonAcronisCloud.Yourdatawillbeprotectedevenifyourcomputerislost,stolen,ordestroyed,andyourdatacanbeentirelyrecoveredontoanewdevice,ifneeded.

§ FilebackupInsteadofbackingupentirepartitionsanddisks,youcanbackupspecificfilesandfolders,bothtoalocalstorageandAcronisCloud.

§ DataarchivingDataarchivingisatoolthatallowsyoutomoveyourbigorrarelyusedfilestoAcronisCloud.Everytimeyourunthistool,itanalyzesthedataintheselectedfolderandsuggestsuploadingthefoundfilestoAcronisCloud.Youcanselectthefilesandfoldersthatyouwanttoarchive.Afteruploading,thelocalcopiesofthesefileswillbedeleted.Afterwards,whenyouneedtoopenorchangeanarchivedfile,youcandownloaditbacktoyourlocalstoragedeviceoraccessandmanageitrightinAcronisCloud.

§ FamilydataprotectionFamilydataprotectionisaunifiedcross-platformsolutionthatallowsyoutotrackandcontroltheprotectionstatusofallcomputers,smartphones,andtabletssharingthesameAcronisaccount.Sinceusersofthesedevicesmustbesignedintothesameaccount,usuallytheyaremembersofthesamefamily.Ingeneral,eachofthemcanusethisfeature,butthereisoftenafamilymemberwhoismoreexperiencedintechnologythantheothers.So,it'sreasonabletomakethatpersonresponsibleforprotectionofthefamilydata.Totrackandcontroltheprotectionstatusofyourfamily'sdevices,usetheweb-basedOnlineDashboard,whichisaccessiblefromanycomputerconnectedtotheInternet.

§ DatasynchronizationYoucanhavethesamedata-documents,photos,videos,etc.-onallofyourcomputers.Yourdataiswithineasyreachanywhereandanytime.NomoreemailingfilestoyourselforcarryinganUSBdriveallthetime.YoucancreateasmanysyncsasyouneedandstoreyoursyncedfilesandversionsofthosefilesonAcronisCloud.Thisletsyourollbacktoapreviousfileversionwheneveryouneedit.YoucanalsoaccesstheCloudusingawebbrowser,withouthavingtoinstalltheapplication.

Tobackupyourcomputer:

1. StartAcronisTrueImageHD.2. Onthesidebar,clickBackup.

Ifthisisyourfirstbackup,youwillseethebackupconfigurationscreen.Ifyoualreadyhavesomebackupsinthebackuplist,thenfirstclickAddbackup,andthenclickCreatenewbackup.

3. ClicktheBackupsourceicon,andthenselectEntirePC.Ifyouwanttobackupyoursystemdiskonly,thenclickDisksandpartitions,andthenselectyoursystempartition(usuallyC:)andtheSystemReservedpartition(ifany).

5. ClickBackupnow.

Result:AnewbackupboxappearsintheMybackupslist.Tocreateanewversionofthebackupinfuture,selectthebackupboxfromthelist,andthenclickBackupnow.

2.4 Cloning your hard drive WhydoIneedit?Whenyouseethatthefreespaceonyourharddriveisnotenoughforyourdata,youmightwanttobuyanew,largerharddriveandtransferallyourdatatothenewdrive.Theusualcopyoperationdoesnotmakeyournewharddriveidenticaltotheoldone.Forexample,ifyouopenWindowsExplorerandcopyallfilesandfolderstothenewharddrive,Windowswillnotstartfromthenewharddrive.TheClonediskutilityallowsyoutoduplicateallyourdataandmakeWindowsbootableonyournewharddrive.

Backupsareusefulprimarilyfortwopurposes.Thefirstistorestoreastatefollowingadisaster(calleddisasterrecovery).Thesecondistorecoversmallnumbersoffilesaftertheyhavebeenaccidentallydeletedorcorrupted.

AcronisTrueImageHDdoesbothbycreatingdisk(orpartition)imagesandfile-levelbackupsrespectively.

BackupversionsBackupversionsarethefileorfilescreatedduringeachbackupoperation.Ifyoudonotuseconsolidationfeature,theamountofversionscreatedisalwaysequaltotheamountoftimesthebackupisexecutedortotheamountofstoredpointsintime.

So,aversionrepresentsapointintimetowhichthesystemordatacanberestored.Toputitanotherway,backupversionsrepresentfullandincrementalbackups-seeFullandincrementalbackups(p.18).

Thebackupversionsaresimilartofileversions.ThefileversionsconceptisfamiliartothosewhouseaWindowsVistaandWindows7featurecalled"Previousversionsoffiles".Thisfeatureallowsyoutorestoreafileasitexistedonaparticulardateandtime.Abackupversionallowsyoutorecoveryourdatainasimilarway.

Thiscouldbeusefulwhentryingtofinddamagedordeletedfiles.SimplybrowsethroughthebackupversionsintheAcronisBackupExploreruntilyoufindthebackupversioncontainingtherequiredfiles.Additionally,youcanrecoverdifferentsavedversionsofthefoundfiles.

DiskcloningThisoperationmigratesorcopiestheentirecontentsofonediskdrivetoanotherdiskdrive.Thismaybenecessary,forexample,wheninstallingalargercapacitydisk.Theresultistwoidenticaldriveswiththesamefilestructure.The"DiskClone"tooleffectivelycopiesallofthecontentsofoneharddiskdriveontoanotherharddiskdrive.Theoperationallowsyoutotransferalltheinformation(includingtheoperatingsystemandinstalledprograms)fromoneharddiskdrivetoanotherwithouthavingtoreinstallandreconfigureallofyoursoftware.

AcronisTrueImageHDdoesnotprovideforcloningasinglepartition.Youcanonlyclonetheentiredrive.

Youcanalsotransferalltheinformationfromyourharddiskdrivetoanotheronebybackinguptheentireoldharddiskandthenrecoveringthebackuptothenewdisk.

BackupvalidationThebackupvalidationfeatureallowsyoutoconfirmthatyourdatacanberecovered.Asmentionedabove,theprogramaddschecksumvaluestothedatablocksbeingbackedup.Duringbackupvalidation,AcronisTrueImageHDopensthebackupfile,recalculatesthechecksumvaluesandcomparesthosevalueswiththestoredones.Ifallcomparedvaluesmatch,thebackupfileisnotcorruptedandthereisahighprobabilitythatthebackupcanbesuccessfullyusedfordatarecovery.

ConsolidationConsolidationallowsyoutodeletebackupswhichyounolongerneedfromabackupchain.

Achaintobeconsolidatedcanconsistofafullbackupandoneormoreincrementalbackups.

Ifnecessary,youcandeletethebasefullbackupfromthechain.Theprogramwillcreateanewfullbackupinplaceoftheoldestremainingbackup.Consolidationkeepswhicheverbackupsyouchooseanddeletesanybackupsthatarenotselected.

Becauseconsolidationmayrequiresignificanttimeandsystemresources(includingdiskspace),werecommendusingitsparingly.Inmanycases,startinganewbackupchainandthendeletingtheoldonewillbeabetterchoice.

DisasterrecoveryRecoveringfromadisasterusuallyrequiresarescuemediaandabackupofthesystempartition.

AcronisTrueImageHDprovidesforrecoveryfromadisastercausedbysystemdatacorruption,viruses,malware,orothercauses.

Iftheoperatingsystemfailstoboot,AcronisTrueImageHDwillrecoverthesystempartition.YoucancreatearescuemediabyusingtheMediaBuildertool.

SchedulingForyourbackupstobereallyhelpful,theymustbeas"up-to-date"aspossible.Thismeansthatyoushouldrunbackupsonaregularbasis.AlthoughcreatinganAcronisTrueImageHDbackupisquiteeasy,onoccasion,youmayforgettodoabackup.

Withthescheduler,youdonothavetoremember.Youcanscheduleautomaticbackupsaheadoftime.Yourdatawillbebackedupaslongasthereissufficientstoragespace.

3.2 The difference between file backups and disk/partition images

Whenyoubackupfilesandfolders,onlythefilesandfoldertreearecompressedandstored.

Disk/partitionbackupsaredifferentfromfileandfolderbackups.AcronisTrueImagestoresanexactsnapshotofthediskorpartition.Thisprocedureiscalled"creatingadiskimage",or"creatingadiskbackup"andtheresultingbackupisoftencalled"adisk/partitionimage"or"adisk/partitionbackup".

Adisk/partitionbackupcontainsallthedatastoredonthediskorpartition:

1. Zerotrackoftheharddiskwiththemasterbootrecord(MBR)(applicabletoMBRdiskbackupsonly).

2. Oneormorepartitions,including:1. Bootcode.2. Filesystemmetadata,includingservicefiles,fileallocationtable(FAT)andpartitionboot

record.3. Filesystemdata,includingoperatingsystem(systemfiles,registry,drivers),userdataand

BydefaultAcronisTrueImagestoresonlytheharddisksectorsthatcontaindata.Furthermore,AcronisTrueImagedoesnotbackuppagefile.sysunderWindowsXPandlaterandhiberfil.sys(afilethatkeepsRAMcontentswhenthecomputergoesintohibernation).Thisreducesimagesizeandspeedsupimagecreationandrecovery.

Youcanchangethisdefaultmethodbyturningonthesector-by-sectormode.InthiscaseAcronisTrueImagecopiesallharddisksectors,andnotonlythosethatcontaindata.

3.3 Full, incremental and differential backups Note:Incrementalanddifferentialbackupsarenotavailableinthisproductedition.

AcronisTrueImageHDoffersyouthreebackupmethods:

1)Full:containsallofthedataatthemomentofthebackupcreation.Itformsabaseforfurtherincrementalordifferentialbackups.Itcanalsobeusedasastandalonebackup.

2)Incremental:OnlythosefileswillbeincludedwhichhavebeenchangedsincetheLASTbackup.

3)Differential:OnlythosefileswillbeincludedwhichhavebeenchangedsincethelastFULLbackup.

Wesuggestyoutochooseoneofthefollowingthreeapproachesofusingthebackupmethods:

"Full"-Astandalonefullbackupmightbeanoptimalsolutionifyouoftenrollbackthesystemtoitsinitialstateorifyoudonotliketomanagemultiplefiles.

"Incremental"-Thesearemostusefulwhenyouneedfrequentbackupsandtheabilitytorollbacktoaspecificpointintime.Havingcreatedafullbackuponce,ifyouthencreateanincrementalbackupeachdayofamonth,youwillgetthesameresultasifyoucreatedfullbackupseverydayofthemonth.Asarule,incrementalbackupsareconsiderablysmallerthanfullordifferentialbackups.

Suchabackupscenariomayconsistofaweeklyfullsystembackupwithintermediate,dailybackupsthatcoverdatathatwaschangedsincetheLASTbackup.Thisscenario,whilerequiringlessstoragespaceandtimeforthedailybackups,willrequiremoreworkfortheprogramtoproviderecoveryafterasystemcrash.IntheeventofaThursdaycrash,theprogramwouldhavetorecovertheWednesday,Tuesday,andMondayincrementalbackupsandthelastFULLbackup.

"Differential"–isanintermediatebetweenthefirsttwoapproaches.Eachdifferentialbackupincludesallthefileschangedsincethelastfullbackup.Ittakeslesstimeandspacethan"Full",butmorethan"Incremental".Thegoodthingisthatrecoveringissimplerthanfor(2)-theprogramwillhavetorecoverthelastdifferentialbackupandthelastfullbackup.

Tochooseadesiredbackupmethod,youusuallyneedtoconfigureacustombackupscheme.FormoreinformationseeCustomschemes(p.26).

Anincrementalordifferentialbackupcreatedafteradiskisdefragmentedmightbeconsiderablylargerthanusual.Thisisbecausethedefragmentationprogramchangesfilelocationsonthediskandthebackupsreflectthesechanges.Therefore,itisrecommendedthatyoure-createafullbackupafterdiskdefragmentation.

Ifyouloseanincrementalbackuporitbecomescorrupted,alllaterincrementalbackupswillbeunusable.

Largebackupscanbesplitintoseveralfilesthattogethermakeuptheoriginalbackup.Abackupcanalsobesplitforburningtoremovablemedia.

Thedefaultsetting-Automatic.Withthissetting,AcronisTrueImageHDwillactasfollows.

Whenbackinguptoaharddisk:

§ Iftheselecteddiskhasenoughspaceanditsfilesystemallowstheestimatedfilesize,theprogramwillcreateasinglebackupfile.

Alsorememberthatyouwillpayfortheenhancedconvenienceandincreasedsecurityofyourdatabythetimerequiredforperformingthebackupbecausenormalbackupandreservecopyingareperformedoneatatimeandnotsimultaneously.

4.2.8 Removable media settings Whenbackinguptoremovablemedia,youcanmakethismediabootablebywritingadditionalcomponentstoit.Thus,youwillnotneedaseparatebootabledisk.

IfyouhaveotherAcronisproductsinstalledonyourcomputer,thebootableversionsoftheseprograms'componentswillbeofferedaswell.

4.2.9 Backup comment Thisoptionallowsyoutoaddcommentstothebackup.Backupcommentsmayhelpyoutofindthenecessarybackuplater,whenrecoveringdatabyusingbootablemedia.

Ifabackupdoesnothavecomments,typeyourcommentinthecommentsarea.Whenacommentalreadyexists,youcanedititafterclickingEdit.

4.2.10 Error handling Whentheprogramencounteredanerrorwhileperformingbackup,itstopsthebackupprocessanddisplaysamessage,waitingforaresponseonhowtohandletheerror.Ifyousetanerrorhandlingpolicy,theprogramwillnotstopthebackupprocess,butwillsimplyhandletheerroraccordingtothesetrulesandcontinueworking.

Youcansetthefollowingerrorhandlingpolicy:

§ Donotshowmessagesanddialogswhileprocessing(silentmode)-Enablethissettingtoignoreerrorsduringbackupoperations.Thisisusefulwhenyoucannotcontrolthebackupprocess.Youcanviewthedetailedlogofalloperationsafterthebackupprocessfinishes.

§ Ignorebadsectors-Thisoptionisavailableonlyfordiskandpartitionbackups.Itletsyousuccessfullycompleteabackupeveniftherearebadsectorsontheharddisk.Werecommendthatyouselectthischeckboxwhenyourharddriveisfailing,forexample:§ Harddriveismakingclickingorgrindingnoisesduringoperation.§ TheS.M.A.R.T.systemhasdetectedharddriveissuesandrecommendsthatyoubackupthe

driveassoonaspossible.Whenyouleavethischeckboxcleared,thebackupmayfailbecauseofpossiblebadsectorsonthedrive.

§ Repeatattemptifabackupfails-Thisoptionallowsyoutoautomaticallyrepeatabackupattemptifthebackupfailsforsomereason.Youcanspecifynumberofattemptsandtimeintervalbetweenattempts.Notethatiftheerrorinterruptingthebackuppersists,thenthebackupwillnotbecreated.Thisoptionisnotavailable,whenyoubackupyourdatatoaUSBflashdriveorUSBharddrive.

§ Preservefilesecuritysettingsinbackups-selectingthisoptionwillpreserveallthesecurityproperties(permissionsassignedtogroupsorusers)ofthebackupfilesforfurtherrecovery. Bydefault,filesandfoldersaresavedinthebackupwiththeiroriginalWindowssecuritysettings(i.e.permissionsforread,write,executeandsoonforeachuserorusergroup,setinfileProperties->Security).Ifyourecoverasecuredfile/folderonacomputerwithouttheuserspecifiedinthepermissions,youmaynotbeabletoreadormodifythisfile.Toeliminatethiskindofproblem,youcandisablepreservingfilesecuritysettingsinbackups.Thentherecoveredfiles/folderswillalwaysinheritthepermissionsfromthefoldertowhichtheyarerecovered(parentfolderordisk,ifrecoveredtotheroot).Or,youcandisablefilesecuritysettingsduringrecovery,eveniftheyareavailableinthebackup.Theresultwillbethesame.

§ Inbackups,storeencryptedfilesinadecryptedstate(thepresetisdisabled)-checktheoptionifthereareencryptedfilesinthebackupandyouwantthemtobeaccessedbyanyuserafterrecovery.Otherwise,onlytheuserwhoencryptedthefiles/folderswillbeabletoreadthem.Decryptionmayalsobeusefulifyouaregoingtorecoverencryptedfilesonanothercomputer.IfyoudonotusetheencryptionfeatureavailableinWindowsXPandlateroperatingsystems,simplyignorethisoption.(Files/foldersencryptionissetinProperties->General->AdvancedAttributes->Encryptcontentstosecuredata).

4.2.12 Computer shutdown Ifyouknowthatthebackupprocessyouareconfiguringmaytakealongtime,youmayselecttheShutdownthecomputerafterthebackupiscompletecheckbox.Inthiscase,youwillnothavetowaituntiltheoperationcompletion.Theprogramwillperformthebackupandturnoffyourcomputerautomatically.

Thisoptionisalsousefulwhenyouscheduleyourbackups.Forexample,youmaywanttoperformbackupseveryweekdayintheeveningtosaveallyourwork.Schedulethebackupandselectthecheckbox.Afterthatyoumayleaveyourcomputerwhenyoufinishyourworkknowingthatthecriticaldatawillbebackedupandthecomputerwillbeturnedoff.

Firstofall,makesurethatAcronisTrueImageHDdetectsyournewSSDbothinWindowsandundertheAcronisrescuemedia.Ifthereisaproblem,seeWhattodoifAcronisTrueImageHDdoesnotrecognizeyourSSD(p.73).

SSDsizeBecauseSSDsarestillsomewhatexpensive,thesizeofyournewSSDwillusuallybelessthanthatofyouroldharddisk.Thismaycauseaproblemifyourharddiskcontainstheoperatingsystem,programsanddata.

WepresupposethatbeforepurchasingtheSSDyouestimatedtheapproximatespaceoccupiedbyyouroperatingsystemandapplicationsandthatyouselectedanSSDthathasareasonablereservecapacity.

IftheoccupiedspaceonyouroldharddiskexceedsthesizeofyourSSD,youwillneedtofreeupspaceonthesystemdisktomakemigrationpossible.SeeWhattodoifyourSSDdoesnothaveenoughspaceforallHDDcontent.

SSDalignmentAnotherquestionconcernsthealignmentofSSDs.TogettheoptimumperformancefromanSSDandtoprolongitslife,thepartitionoffsetmustmeetcertaincriteria. Inmostcasesyoudonotneedtocheckormanuallyfixthealignment,theprogramwilldoitautomatically.

Inanyevent,werecommendthatyouperformoneofthefollowing:

§ Createthebackupyouaregoingtouseformigrationindiskmode.Inotherwords,backupthesourcediskentirely,notjustthesystempartition.

§ MakesurethedestinationSSDdoesnotcontainpartitions(thediskspaceisunallocated).NotethatifyourSSDisnewandhasneverbeenusedbefore,itdoesnotcontainpartitions.

WhichmigrationmethodtochooseIfyoursystemdiskconsistsofasinglepartition(notcountingthehiddenSystemReservedpartitionexistinginmanyinstallationsofWindows7),youcantrytomigratetotheSSDusingtheClonetool.FormoreinformationseeCloningaharddisk(p.67).
