The causes of noise

Internal ones (houses):

External ones (means of trasport and factories):

External causes

Areal sources Linear sources

• Industrial activities• Commercial activities• Discos or pubs Levels of noise are linked tooriginating intensity and position. The areas affected with this kindof pollution are those around the sources.

• Cars• Trains• Airplanes The impact area is paraller to the

axis in which the veheicol moves.

Some laws...

1. article 659 of the penal code which defends PUBLIC TRANQUILLITY and HEALTH; people who don’t respect this two rights are punished by law

2. article 10 of “legge quadro” which states a limit for emissions of noise

3. Law n 447/1995 art. 2 gives a definition of acoustic pollution

When the situation is extremely dangerous for the environment each municipaly in Lombardy has to appeal to ARPS that is to say regional agency for the enviromental protection

Technological progresses

Zoning or classification:

It is the result of the partition of the urban territory in unifor acoustic areas.

Reclamation plans:

When the value of noise overtakes town ban, a territory can use reclamation plan to reduce noise.
