Welcome to the CeBIT Global Conference Series Big Data Conference: DataCon 20139 – 10 October 2013, Hilton Hotel Sydney
On behalf on Deutsche Messe Worldwide and CeBIT Global Conferences, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our third Big Data Conference and Workshops, DataCon 2013.
The days when organisations could only analyse small sets of structured data to look for correlations are long gone. Cloud computing, high speed internet, and access to multiple data sources is changing the paradigm and organisations can now analyse all the data available to them to look for actionable insights.
The datafication of everything is moving fast and being able to analyse the data in real-time and extract valuable information is changing the way we do business. Big Data truly is the game changer of the 21st century.
We are seeing the rise of new jobs and skills as people look to involve themselves in this new market. Data Scientists are in high demand and being part of this change is an exciting place to be.
However, we must ensure that we act responsibly and do not let the data engross or overrun us. Privacy and accountability need to be protected and considered as we move towards a data driven society.
DataCon 2013 will provide delegates with an opportunity to find insights in their data and find answers to questions that they had not before even considered. Ensuring that your organisation does not miss out on this change is essential for future success.
The conference will feature an expert panel of big data professionals from Australia and overseas who will provide insights, case studies and solutions to the challenges facing organisations today within this burgeoning field.
I would like to welcome to Australia our international speakers, Sean Owen and Clint Sharp, who will provide insightful perspectives from the UK and US.
I trust you will have a productive and beneficial time at today’s conference.
