The National Safety Day/Month Objectives:
ACME is committed to “Zero Accident (Injury & Fire)” concept to make our workplace safer and employees healthy & productive.
As we are aware, the National Safety Day (NSD) Campaign spearheaded by the National Safety Council is celebrated for nearly three decades on its foundation day - 4th March. The first National Safety Day was launched in 1972 and is entering its 46th year. The Campaign is usually celebrated over a week/month aiming at renewing the commitment of employees and general public to work safely throughout the year.
National Safety Day (NSD) became an annual event, and even though the duration of the Campaign has been increased to a week/month, it continues to be known as the National Safety Day Campaign due to the popularity that the title has gained.
We, at ACME, are celebrating 46th National Safety Month from 4th – 31st March 2017.
To ensure that Health & Safety is fully integrated with work culture & life style.
Renewing the commitment of the employees towards Safety & Health at workplace.
To generate, develop and sustain a voluntary movement with respect to Health & Safety.
To achieve greater participation of employees in Health & Safety Activities.
Approch:
Identify & highlight Health & Safety Issues.

How to Stay Active When You Work Behind a Desk All Day
Winter is gone, which means those long walks under the sun most likely have disappeared along with the colder temperatures. But just because you’re stuck at your office desk every day doesn’t mean you have to endure aches, pains and hours of sitting in the same position.
A lack of physical activity, particularly if it’s combined with work-related stress, can threaten your overall health. Building fitness and healthy food choices into your daily office routine can make a big difference in your physical and mental well-being.
Today, most of us spend a lot of time sitting. That’s not necessarily good for flexibility, muscular strength and the health of our lungs and heart.
You may practice the following ideas for incorporating fitness and health into the office setting:
• Step. Walk as much as possible through the workday. Park far from the office entrance. Take the steps instead of the elevator. Take a walk during lunch.

UPCOMING EVENTS
• Stretch. Take a few moments to perform stretches you can do in the office. Throughout your workday, try doing some stretches for your shoulders, back, arms and legs. • Move. Body weight exercises can be easily performed in the office, such as toe raisers, seated leg extensions, book curls and overhead presses, stair climbs and wall push-ups.• Cleanse. Don’t forget to practice good hygiene to help fight the spread of colds and flu. Wash your hands regularly. Cover your mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing.• Cut the Snacking. It’s too easy to fall into a routine of snacking the wrong way and overeating at lunch. Healthy snacks such as fruits and vegetables are the smart choice. In addition, we should drink eight glasses of water a day.
