They evacuate the hot air by natural convection eliminating the

need for a mechanical exhaust system.

Graphic banding of the exterior finish helps articulate themuscular feature of the building. The socialistic emphasis on office-worker amenities and

environmentally sensitiveworkspace remind of a Dutch architectHerman Hertzberger.

The stark rectilinear concrete forms and

industrial profile of the plant announce that

it is a place for production.

Thus modern thecnology is used to

preserve a traditional way of life and the

processing plant is the physical expression

    of this fusion.

    OUR OPINION

Based on observations on his work. They appear to be built with a large amount of

thought having been given to making them

    functionally efficient and practically feasible.

His buildings were always conceived with first

priority given to its functions, and the socialvalues when designing spaces.

    They rejected symmetry.

Even the temple he designed, at the fag end ofhis career, for ISKON, has three shikharas- all

of which face different angles- very unlike any

other temple, which would have its shikhars

    linearly arranged- emphasizing a direction.

The visible difference in his later works, as

compared to earlier ones, is that the structural

system is easily readable on the face of the

building, and the buildings clearly respond to

    climate.

    Conclusion

Kanvinde has mostly designed research andeducational areas.

He liked to reveal theinternalfunctions in a building(office block, walkway, auditorium ) as separate masses.

The quality of execution and finishes reflects his

attention todetailingand an experienced yet relatingattitude of design.

The lightness spoke of the primacy of idea over

matter, logic over circumstances, it was the theme that

    never left his architecture
