achieving greatness in (gaming) life
TRANSCRIPT
It is said that ,”all roads lead to Rome”, that there are many different
ways to reach the same destination.
Greatness is one of the most favourite destination , yet it
harbors only a few. Why?
As greatness itself resides so high that most people quit on their way up,
the road itself only get worse.
Compare it to the phenomenon of levels design in game. Not only to keep the players from getting bored, but also to provide more challenges. The bigger the prize, the bigger the challenge.
There isn’t any easy way to do it. That is for sure. But game teach us a
lot about it.
What you need to do to achieve greatness in game
(such as completing the game, achieving the highest score, unlocking secret levels,
weapons, characters, etc) is actually quite simple
(yes, sometimes it’s not easy) :
complete the quest or task which is given to you.
When I played RPGs, I learned that completing a quest leads you to another challenge, but at the same time, you start to get the bigger picture of the problem. And when all the puzzle solved, when you get all the picture, you achieve what people call as greatness.
“Sometimes when I consider what tremendous consequences come
from little things, I am tempted to think
there are no little things.”
~ Bruce Barton
