Achievements and

Celebrations End of Summer Term 2017

Some children in F2R have been working with Mrs Reed to

improve their listening and ability to follow instructions. Here they

are with the certificates they received to celebrate their success.

This term we

started taking 2

year olds in our

Nursery. They

have nearly

completed a term

with us and have

settled well and

had great fun

exploring all of

the exciting

learning

opportunities.

The Nursery children have been learning about life cycles this term and have enjoyed raising their very own tadpoles. Once they were beginning to turn into frogs, the children went to the pond to release them and also enjoyed spotting other pond life whilst they were there.

William has made so

much progress during his

time in Reception! On the

left is his first piece of

writing from September

and on the right is his

most recent piece about

pirates. Mrs Cocks and

Mrs Crocker are very

proud!

When Richard grows up, he would like to be a palaeontologist. A little while ago, he wrote a letter to Miss Fletcher asking if he could be the teacher for part of the day as he wanted to share all of his dinosaur

knowledge with the class. He brought in books and magazines from home as well as an

excavation kit and fact files and the children all enjoyed listening to him talk. He even wore

special teacher clothes. Thank you Richard!

Tegan (1G) has made fantastic

progress in writing and used

lots of description in her story.

Lilly B (2H) completed an informative piece of writing about the Torah:

‘The Torah is like a Bible but a scroll for Jewish people. If you make a

mistake in the Torah you will need to do all 304,805 letters again. It

can take over two years to make a Torah. A child has to be able to read

it before they put it in the synagogue for people to read. They have to

use a yad to touch it because of the oil on our hands could destroy the

Torah.’

All Year 4 have been developing their creative

writing skills. Ella and Jordan have done a

fantastic job with their offerings. Honey has

also been working hard on her presentation

and should be proud with the progress she

has made. Since the introduction of

Mathletics, many children

have been thoroughly inspired

– none more so than Jayden

who here displays proudly his

position at the top of the

World top 100 leaderboard! A
