I hope you all enjoy time with family and friends. I want to thank everyone who has helped out over the year at Grenfell Public School and I hope all the students enjoy Christmas and the break. Thank you to all the staff for their support over the year and I look forward to an even better 2016. Class Parties Class parties will be held on Wednesday 16 th December, which is the last day of school. All classes will be going to the pool on that day. Students will receive a note this week which must be completed and returned to school. Classes for 2016 Next year we will have 9 classes with student numbers in each around the early 20s. We will have a Kindergarten, two 1/2 classes, three 3/4 classes and three 5/6 classes. I thank all the parents who have come and talked to me about requests and we will do our best to accommodate these. A lot of planning and preparation goes into setting up classes. Classes and teachers will be announced on the first day back next year but I am very excited about how they have come together, and hopefully we won’t have the disruptions that we have had this year. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope you all enjoy time with

family and friends. I want to thank everyone who has helped out over the year at Grenfell Public

School and I hope all the students enjoy Christmas and the break. Thank you to all the staff for

School Banking

Tomorrow, Tuesday 15th December, will be the last school banking day for this year.

Good luck to all those students who made 25 or more deposits this year, you are

now in the draw to win a family trip to Disneyland.

Prizes have been handed out to the following students who were the

most consistent savers this year: Harrison Keppie, Taylor Keppie, Peter

Armstrong and Chloe Amery. These four students made the same

amount of deposits each for 2015. Congratulations on maintaining your

great savings habits.

A class award was also handed out to 1/2KF who made the most

deposits this year. This was closely contested between several classes

- well done 1/2KF!

School Banking will commence for 2016 on Tuesday 2nd February.

Holiday Construction Work The entire roof in the primary classrooms, administration building and canteen will be replaced with colour bond roofing over the holidays. Rod Walsh will be completing the work. This is major work that we have been fortunate enough to get at our school and will make a huge difference. The air conditioners will also be replaced and will be stand-alone machines on the ground. The guttering and facia will also be replaced on the infants block.

BOOK CLUB Orders from Issue 8 have arrived and are being distributed this week. If you

have an order that was requested not to be given to your child, it can be

collected from the office.

Don’t forget we still have some supplies of the jersey knit shorts for sale at $9.00 a

pair. We have Size 6 and Size 10 available.

The shorts are can be purchased from the front office.

Grenfell Swimming Club News - Week Commencing 14 December 2015 Grenfell Pool Enquiries – Leann Logan - 6343 1756

Last Friday evening was a little cold and windy but our racers powered on. Thank you to honorary guest starter, Frank Freudenstein, who, after a long history with the club kindy lends a hand when required. Several swimmers travelled to Bathurst carnival on 6 December - Well done Angus Brown who placed 2nd in 50m freestyle and Lily Holmes and Caprhyse Lawler who swam well in their races. Important Dates 18 December – Swimming Club runs as normal but once your swims are over drop in to the Christmas Carnival 25 December and 1 January – No Swimming Club 8 January - Swimming Club resumes Dates for the diary

26 (Tuesday) January – Australia Day pool party 14 (Sunday) February – Business House Relay

Weekly news Raffle winner – congratulations to Ross Greenaway who won a mini party hamper kindly donated by the Robinson

family. Donated raffle prizes are very welcome and greatly appreciated – the funds go straight back to the kids. They may be left with Leann Logan at the Grenfell Pool.

Official news Next club meeting – tonight - 8pm - Swimming Club room - everyone welcome Absentees - If you are going to be away during the holiday period or want to change any events please advise

before you go and before 5pm on a Friday. This last hour allows time to check nominations for accuracy and then seed and print event sheets which help the night run smoothly. If you need to pull out of an event on the night, due to sickness or injury, please let someone at the desk know. If a swimmer does not present for a nominated event, this is recorded as a Non Swim and points are deducted from the swimmer’s score.

Timekeeping/raffle roster – our timekeeping/raffle roster is running well. Please note: If you are unable to perform your rostered duty or will be away during the holiday period please arrange a swap.
