IntroductionThis document provides information and procedures for using serial commands (ASCII text messages)to control the product.

RS232 communication parametersThe RS232 IN port has several communication parameters.

Parameter Value

Default baud rate 115200

Parity None

Data bits 8

Stop bits 1

Flow control None

When the baud rate is set to 38400, the panel remains at that baud rate when in an ON and OFFstate. When the baud rate is set to 115200, it returns to baud rate 38400 when it is in an OFF state. To use the Wake on RS232 command, the connection to the display panel must be configured with38400 baud rate.To change the baud rate, on the panel select Signage Settings > Controls > UART0 > ASCII andselect the baud rate.

Connecting to the RS232 portUse an RS232 connection to remotely access display controls and image setups, issue commands orqueries, and receive replies.

1. Connect one end of a straight through DB9 connector serial RS232 cable to the display panelRS232 port.

2. Connect the other end of the cable to a computer.
