This WAP portal has opened this arena for them. Background of This Project

According to a survey we found that many people do not have the sufficient time to see their favorite TV programs due to the shortage of time. To consider this point we took a step to facilitate those end users. People who miss ATN TV programs and exclusive News are looking for quick access to their favourite probrams. Thus we started work for ATN WAP Portal and now it is running successfully and adds value to the end users. This portal has a distinct innovative look.

Technical Mechanism

This project is a WAP site for the leading TV channel of the country. The site is developed in PHP-MySQL. The output is in XHTML. For designing we have used CSS and mobile friendly images. It is developed with the following XHTML mobile profile 1.1 standard.

It is hosted in a Linux platform. The high configured hosting server is secured by firewall and additional security measures and it has backup for power, bandwidth and data.

Integration Mechanism

•The site is designed considering the mobile devices used by local users in mind so that it shows good in most of the mobile devices and can be displayed gracefully in other devices. The final output is both appealing and robust.

•The site is supported in any WAP enabled handset with XHTML browser and thus supports almost all mobile devices. The full WAP site is enabled for users of Grameenphone & ROBI The leading telecommunication operators in Bangladesh and thus has coverage in anywhere in the country.

User Experience

This WAP portal can be accessed through the regular web browser of mobile phones. Colouful and eye catchy presentation of the portal renders it both satisfying and worthwhile.
