    Accenture Project Jump Start tool, which enables project teams to

    start working quickly in a stable PeopleSoft environment in less

    than two weeks. Among its components are server and network

    hardware, preloaded application software and the latest version of

    the PeopleSoft environment. In addition to the Jump Start tool, we

    offer a wide range of additional tools to make the Build segment

    of a PeopleSoft project successfulfor example, functional test

    Accenture PeopleSoft Upgrade Solution

    For years, Accenture has teamed with scores of clients across

    multiple industries to plan and execute PeopleSoft upgrade

    programs. Through the upgradesmany to version 8we have

    balanced our clients' budget, risk and timeline targets with the

    strategic objectives of using PeopleSoft-based solutions.

    An important first step is using the Accenture Business Case

    Diagnostic Tool to help clients understand the upgrade's concrete

    business benefits. With professionals skilled in PeopleSoft upgrades,

    we then draw on a variety of proven assets to accelerate delivery.

    We have leveraged our strong alliance relationship with PeopleSoft

    to develop upgrade tools that are either aligned with or complement

    PeopleSoft's tools and strengths, such as the PeopleSoft Upgrade

    Lab. Our PeopleSoft-specific toolstesting scripts, training aids,

    estimating models, management tracking scorecards and others

    help reduce upgrade risks, costs and time.

    Looking forward, we are working with selected clients to evaluate

    current business capabilities to highlight opportunities that will

    extract additional value.

    Tactical - Relates benefits planned (using the original business

    case) to typical benefits realized (using ranges of benefits from

    other enterprise solution implementations) to actual benefits

    realized (using current financial data).

    Microsoft-based solutions for PeopleSoft

    A unique alliance between Accenture, Avanade and Microsoft

    enables us to offer Microsoft platform options for scalable and

    flexible enterprise solutions. These solutions provide significant

    improvements in business processes while operating at a lower

    total cost of ownership.

    In a recent performance analysis for a large US federal agency, we

    compared its current technical architecture to the performance that

    could result from a competing technical architecture of Unisys/

    Windows/SQL Server. We found that the agency could reduce its

    cost by more than 50 percent by running its current loads on Unisys

    hardware with the Windows operating system and the Microsoft

    SQL Server database. The technical architecture also producedbetter results for each of the six PeopleSoft processes tested.

    Through this and other engagements, Accenture has developed and

    refined assets and tools that help clients determine if the

    Microsoft platform is appropriate for their needs:

    Accenture High Performance, Reliability and Scalability Labs

    provide benchmarking services to reduce the potential risk

    associated with solution scalability, reliability and performance.

    Accenture Microsoft Simulations demonstrate that the Microsoft

    platform can deliver superior response times for PeopleSoft

    applications at a lower total cost than UNIX environments.

    Accenture Total Cost of Ownership Diagnostic provides the

    framework for evaluating the costs of implementing and

    managing PeopleSoft applications on a Microsoft platform.

    Accenture's close relationship with Avanade helps reduce the

    migration time to the Microsoft platform. Avanade delivers

    customized scalable enterprise and Internet-based technology

    solutions built upon the Microsoft .NET platform. Avanade

    professionals work side by side with our PeopleSoft professionals

    to implement PeopleSoft solutions on the Microsoft platform.

    Accenture Interactive Messaging Service Solution for

    PeopleSoft

    Accenture's patent-pending Interactive Messaging Service solution,

    pre-integrated with PeopleSoft's product architecture, providesnatural-language-based interaction to information and transactions

    managed in PeopleSoft 8.x applications. This innovative solution

    can reduce the cost of customer and employee operations, enable

    new revenue streams, improve employee productivity, and increase

    customer satisfaction and loyalty by improving responsiveness to

    customer needs.

    The Accenture Interactive Messaging Service Solution for PeopleSoft

    delivers key transactions to many communications channels:

    interactive pagers, enterprise and consumer instant messengers,

    short messaging service and voice calls. Users can access enterprise

    systems through any of these devices to obtain up-to-the-minute

    information or perform transactionsfor example, managing orders;

    viewing contract data, customer credit, service management or

    profiles; retrieving and updating HR data; and viewing accounting

    transactions. The solution also provides interactive alerts that

    push out key informationsuch as sales order notifications,

    pending deliveries and employee/customer pollingand interact

    with the user to complete business transactions based on the alert.

    Early adopters are proving the business value of this pioneering

    approach. For example, an employee shared services center that

    handles accounts payable, accounts receivable and project

    accounting requests deployed this solution to an employee pilot

    group of 40. One outcome was a 58 percent call deflection rate,

    with employees opting to use the interactive messaging system

    instead of direct calls to shared services personnel. Another outcome

    was a 15 percent average handle time reduction for those calls

    that were handled by an employee service agent. Within months,this pilot group expanded, through viral marketing, from 40 to

    more than 4,000 employees, further extending the business value.

    developed an approach for assisting banks in modifying their

    existing PeopleSoft applications to become Basel II compliant. This

    approach includes a diagnostic tool to understand the relevant

    technology and process components, a data model to define the

    needed data structure and a technical architecture template. In

    addition to these PeopleSoft-specific assets, Accenture can draw

    upon considerable global experience in helping banks to plan and

    implement a Basel II compliance strategy.
