The 4 Day ‘KeytekTM Accredited Course’ is recognised as one of the leading locksmith courses within the industry. Tailored towards newcomers to the locksmith profession, this widely respected and in-depth course encompasses the essential foundation skillsrequired to operate as an effective locksmith; whether working with KeytekTM Locksmiths

as an approved sub contractor within our ‘National Engineer Network’, or within your own locksmith business.

Course Breakdown...Over the four day period of the course, you will be taught and assessed on locksmith techniques covering the identification, operation, opening techniques and fitting of the most common lock types:Examples as follows:

• Cylinders – Euro, Oval and Rim• Backsets – Standard, British Standard and Specialist• Mortice Locks – 2, 3 and 5 lever with British Standards, including Sash

On successful completionof the 5DayCourse youwill be awardedwith a Level 3 NCFE Certificate in Locksmithing. This course covers all aspects of the KeytekTM Accredited Course with the benefit of an additional day including NCFE accreditation assessment, skill enhancement sessions and a ‘Locksmith Tool Kit’, which is essential to any working locksmith in order to provide an effective and professional service.

TheMOD'sEnhancedLearningCredits Scheme is an initiative to promote lifelong learning for members of the Armed Forces.


Our eight day course will not only provide you with a comprehensive understanding and practical application of locksmith techniques, you will be awarded a Level 3 NCFE Certificate in Locksmithing, the Locksmith Tool Kit, as well as benefit from three days of real life scenario training fashioned from real life scenario’s encountered within the ‘KeytekTM Engineer Network’ (over 200 engineers throughout the UK) providing you with the full range of customer care skills required by effective and successful Engineers. This is then further enhanced by Academy students shadowing experienced KeytekTM approved locksmith Engineers on live jobs where the whole of an actual customer job is viewed from receiving the job details, arriving on site, and customer care throughout the identification and addressing of the specific customer requirement through to resolution.

Skill Enhancement Sessions Skill Enhancement Sessions are available within both the 5 and 8 day Courses, these one on one sessions will be able to be used as time to develop your techniques as locksmiths, it will give you the opportunity to hone your skills and to go back over anything you have learnt over the previous week.

Real Life Scenario Training These training sessions are conducted within the practical training areas of the Academy, where you will be coached on how to overcome commonly encountered situations. Using your new skills you will be faced with several different scenarios that any mobile locksmith will encounter whilst out on the road. These may include:

On-site Locksmith Shadowing This is a unique opportunity to shadow an experienced KeytekTM

approved locksmith on the road whilst he completes customer jobs. This will give you an insight into the types of jobs that you will come across on a daily basis as a locksmith, witnessing first hand the techniques you will have learnt being put into practice. On return to the Academy your instructors will conduct a debrief on each completed customer job, giving you the opportunity to ask any questions that you may have.
