JULY 6-10

ACADEMICS

Makers Camp $380 + HST

Ages 8+ Campers will explore digital fabrication technologies (3D printing, laser cutting and Arduino circuits), learn technical, problem-solving and social skills via the engineering design process and collaborate, design and build STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) skills culminating in an engineering portfolio.

ARTS

Media Arts Camp $380 + HST

Ages 8+ Tailored to inspire the young artist, campers will create, explore and experiment through a variety of innovative technologies and media, developing their creativity, production, design and editing skills while participating in a range of engaging camp games and activities.

ATHLETICS

VolleyballCamp $250 + HST

Ages 8+ Designed as an introduction to the sport of volleyball, campers will develop an understanding of diff erent skills and positional responsibilities through a variety of drills, activities and competitive play. Varied levels of instruction and support provided.

Hockey Camp $380 + HST

Ages 10-13 With 15 hours of on-ice instruction, campers will develop and refi ne skating, passing, puck-handling, shooting, and specifi c positional skills, and improve their conditioning, teamwork, and leadership abilities through a variety of on-ice and off -ice activities. Campers will be placed in groups based on age and ability, ensuring they appropriately challenged and supported. Recommended for Select to AA level players.

JULY 13-17

ACADEMICS

Robotics Camp $380 + HST

Ages 8+ A unique way for campers to learn STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and critical thinking skills, while having fun at the same time. Working together, campers will also build robots and have them participate in a variety of challenges throughout the week using the VEX IQ robotics kit. No previous experience necessary!

ARTS

Theatre Camp $380 + HST

Ages 8+ Theatre Camp off ers a comprehensive performance program for aspiring performers, regardless of their current level. Campers will develop and explore skills in a variety of areas including improvisation, comedy, musical theatre, technical theatre, character development, etc.

ATHLETICS

Basketball Camp $380 + HST

Ages 8+ Campers will develop and refi ne their dribbling, passing, shooting, defense, and team-oriented skills through drills and activities, while also showcasing their skills in game-like situations. All skill levels welcome!

Lacrosse Camp $380 + HST

Ages 8+ Designed for campers with limited prior lacrosse experience and those looking to refi ne existing skills, participants will learn the fundamentals and develop foundational stick skills through a variety of passing, shooting, team-oriented drills, and one-on-one instruction.

AUGUST 10-14

ACADEMICS

Literacy Camp $315 + HST

Entering Grade 9 at SMCS Through a variety of creative and collaborative activities, Literacy Camp provides students entering Grade 9 at SMCS with the ability to enhance their comprehension of a variety of complex texts and communicate their understanding when writing. Campers will develop their written, verbal, and visual communication skills, and cultivate competence in critical reading and text analysis. This camp is designed to support a students’ transition into high school English.

ACADEMICS:

Math Camp $315 + HST

Entering Grade 9 at SMCSMath Camp off ers students entering Grade 9 the opportunity to consolidate and strengthen their numeracy skills. This camp is designed to develop a student’s confi dence with existing math skills, and support the transition into secondary school mathematics. Campers will also develop social relationships while familiarizing themselves with the teaching and learning environment at SMCS.

General Learning Skills Camp $315 + HST

Entering Grade 7 or 8 at SMCS Created for students entering Grade 7 and 8, this camp will grow and develop their learning skills and work habits in an interactive, supportive environment. Working individually and in groups, students will develop critical thinking, problem-solving, organizational and social skills aimed at supporting their success both inside and outside the classroom.
