• Sunday-Thursday: 2-7PM in Learning Commons; 7-9PM in Eagle
• Closed Friday and Saturday
• Appointments are encouraged, but will accept walk ins.
The Tutors• Every partner has been highly
recommended by professors• They must have and maintain at least a
3.0• Each tutor typically made an “A” in the
class they tutor, and a minimum of a “B”
• By fall of 2008 all tutors certified by the National Tutoring Association

The Session
• Each Session is around 50 minutes each• What You’ll Need:

Targets traditionally difficult courses. Offers regularly scheduled, collaborative, SI directed review sessions.

How it Works.• Group collaborative effort led by an SI
Leader• The leader has taken the class he/she is
currently leading.• SI currently attends the class• Leader holds weekly review sessions in a
designated place.
When Does SI Start?
• If offered for your class it should be announced by the instructor or SI during class.
• Attendance is optional
Why Should You Go?
• Data shows that those who attend generally obtain a better grade
• Shown to increase from a half-entire letter grade• As much as 10 points to final grade.

ACADEMIC COACHING AND COUNSELING
Helps those in need of one-on-one counseling in a variety of academic and non academic areas.

What is It?
• Service to all students, by appointment.• Assists with correcting skill deficits and
other problems that could affect academic success.
• Thoroughly assessed regarding your academic skills and emotional well being
Counselors • Carried out by doctoral level students.• Each are supervised by a licensed
Professional Counselor.• Students and counselor will come up with an
individualized improvement plan.• May include referrals to services on and off
campus.• All services provided by Academic Coaching
and Counseling on campus are Free!

What Are Learning Communities?• Residential and Non-Residential
Freshman interest groups.• Students are registered for same classes
with other freshmen and participate in different activities with each other.
Why choose to be in a LC/LLC.
