Center for Career & Professional Development

Not everyone knows exactly what career they want to pursue when entering college. The Center for Career & Professional Development (CCPD), can help you discover your interests, values, skills, and explore career options. Career planning will ensure that the decision you make and the actions you take as a college student will put you on the right path, a path that will lead you to a lifetime of career and personal fulfillment.

The Center for Career & Professional Development provides:

• Academic and career exploration. • Focus2 online self-assessment. • Individualized job and internship search

strategy. • Practice job interviews. • Resume and cover letter consultations.

The Center for Student Success (CSS) serves as a resource center for students who want to remain at Otterbein, but have encountered obstacles along the way. Additionally, CSS supports academic advising on campus, including providing supplemental academic advising to any student in need as well as peer advising. CSS serves as an advocate to help remove barriers to student success.

The Center for Student Success provides: • Additional advising about pathways to

graduation.

• Coordination and Support of programs for students who need additional academic resources to boost their potential for success at Otterbein.

• Ongoing meetings with advisors to monitor progress and provide accountability.

• Review of current and future course schedules to align schedule to best meet your potential success.

Center for Student Success

Through collaboration with students, faculty, and staff, the Academic Support Center (ASC) supports students in becoming independent, life-long learners in an accessible, student-centered environment. The ASC facilitates the development of learning strategies and skills in partnership with peers and professionals through tutoring, academic coaching, supplemental instruction, academic courses and other learner-focused services such as accommodations for students with disabilities. All Services are free.

Academic Support Center

The Academic Support Center provides: • Academic Coaching - 1:1 – help with time

management and personal accountability, learning and study strategies, note taking, test taking skills and test anxiety support.

• Disability Services – qualified students receive academic accommodations such as distraction- reduced testing.

• Math Lab – walk-in math tutoring.

• One-on-one Tutoring – tutoring for most classes not covered by the Math Lab and Writing Center.

• Supplemental Instruction (SI) – peer-assisted group review/study sessions.

• Writing Center – assistance with any part of a writing assignment.
