Engineering Futures EveningsWe invite year 12 and 13 students, parents and teachers to meet our staff and students at one of our Engineering Futures Evenings.

During the information evening, you will find out more about our Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree, career prospects, accommodation options and financial support options, like our Kick Start scholarships open to first-year engineering students.

We’re also there to provide details on how to apply and answer questions about what it's like to be a student at the University of Auckland.

Tuesday 2nd August 6-8pm or Wednesday 10th August 6-8pm

BadmintonThis week the C Grade Badminton Rockets drew with Strathallan 3-3 after leading 3-1 for the singles games. Nathaniel Brown had his first singles win while Jass Singh had the hard luck story losing 21-20.

The A Grade Renegades lost to the Rosebuds 1-5. Our girls’ team had good doubles combinations and showed the boys what teamwork is all about.

The Rangers team drew with Strathallan 3-3. Sunwoo Kim and Sabin Ji won a good doubles game when the team needed them, to help the team draw.

FootballCongratulations to Year 9 student Pavanvir Khun Khun who has been selected in the Auckland Football representative team which will be heading to the Kanga Cup in Canberra. The team has been selected from players of the highest calibre in the Auckland region. The Auckland team will be playing off against teams from Australia and further afield, which will provide great competition and experiences for the boys attending!

Basketball U15 BoysThis year we have a large number of U15 boys representing Rosehill College in this year’s Basketball team. We have an unusually large team consisting of 14 boys in total, these boys have displayed dedication and sportsmanship which is very promising for the future of Basketball at our school. Keeping this team was uncertain in the beginning due to no coach or management, however we have been lucky enough to have our Premier boys’ coach take on this job.

We are now in the 5th round of competition out at Franklin, with 3 consecutive wins and 1 bye week.

Round 1: Pukekohe 17 vs 40 Rosehill

Round 2: Rosehill 71 vs 22 Waiuku

Round 3: Bye

Round 4: Waiuku Mixed 12 – 43 Rosehill

The U15 team have been doing our school proud with their determination, excellent attitude on and off the court and upholding our school’s reputation and core values.

This week our boys played against Strathallan College, both sides seemed to be a bit out of sorts in the 1st half but once they settled on the court their ball handling improved. Even though Strathallan fought hard and played a good game, Rosehill U15 Boys still remain undefeated with a 57-18 win.

Hillcrest ExchangeThe Hillcrest Exchange will be taking place this coming Tuesday 21st June and all of our Premier teams will be competing against the Hillcrest side to win back the trophy! Basketball, Football, Rugby, Hockey, Netball, Badminton and Volleyball are the teams to be competing, the programme is available below.

Students will need to be prepared with their full playing strip and will need to arrive in their number ones at 8.20am for their roll call and to prepare for the welcoming of Hillcrest at 8.30am. Our premier teams have also been signed out of class for the day to support our other Rosehill teams and to play themselves.

We ask that all participants please bring a plate of sweet or savoury food to share with the Hillcrest teams for afternoon tea. These can be dropped off in X1, above the Sports Office on Tuesday morning.

As this is a big event on the school calendar we ask that all students be aware that they need to represent Rosehill College to the highest standard, to assist Hillcrest where needed and to demonstrate positive sportsmanship all day.

If parents or caregivers have any questions about the Exchange please feel free to contact the Sports Department at [email protected]
