Newsworthy Note from Mr. Lalley & Ms. Salyers ACAA Families, Another successful school year is coming to an end! We have had so many wonderful activities and successes this year at ACAA Elementary. The students, teachers, staff, families and the community have all attributed to this successful year. As we wrap up the last two weeks here are a few key items to take care of:
Please make sure students are getting to school on time and staying the whole school day. Benchmark testing and final exams are a large portion of the final grade.
Stay tuned for Summer Assignments. Students will be getting their summer assignments for reading and math in these last two weeks. The summer assignment will be turned in for a grade at the start of the new school year.
If you haven’t already done so, fill out your reenrollment packet! Student schedules are generated based on when the reenrollment packet was turned in.
Pay outstanding fees with the front office so that you may receive your child(s) final report card as well as have next year’s schedule generated.
The classrooms and hallways, which are
typically filled with students’ voices, will suddenly become quiet. ACAA will take this opportunity to reflect on this year and think of improvements for next year. It is important to look at what we have accomplished and where we need to improve. All of your support this year is very much appreciated! Have a wonderfully relaxing summer! BOOK FAIR
RESULTS! Our final sales for the book fair was $3080.00!
Our ACAA Families raised close to $2120 for Mr. Lalley to purchase school supplies for the classrooms.
We could NOT have done it without your support! YOU ROCK! Our winners of the two contests were Ms. Dickinson & Ms. Aquilone. Ms. Dickinson won the highest sales contest & Ms. Aquilone won the most items sold! Congratulations to these two AWESOME teachers! And a huge THANK YOU to all of our teachers that participated. Teacher participation is what made this Book Fair so successful. They will each receive $50 in CASH & their students will get to enjoy an ice cream party OR a pizza party. (The dates will be decided by their teachers and parents will receive a notice prior to the date so you can plan accordingly.) Students have campaigned for next school years Board positions and the results are in:
2014-2015 POSITIONS ARE:
PRESIDENT: SHAYLEIGH VICE PRESIDENT: KATHRYN
SECRETARY: OPEN TREASURER: OPEN
TEACHER MENTOR: MRS. AQUILONE PARENT MENTOR: MS. DARLENE
We have two positions open if you would like to be a part of our exciting StuCo next year let us know!
Our LAST event is helping our GREAT Art teacher Mr. Johnson!
We need your old markers!
So clean out that junk drawer and bring them to us. We will have a collection box in the front lobby to place them in. You can send them in with your child or bring them in yourself. Our goal is to fill the box! And with ALL our AWESOME families I know we can easily do that. Colorcycle is a great program where Crayola will recycle the markers to create bio-fuel. In return we will receive educational material from Crayola in support of recycling.
I would also like to thank you for all the support you have given your children during this past
school year. Without you we would not have been so successful.
I look forward to our next school year. ☺

what we can do for ACAA Elementary, the teachers and the
students! Be a part of it! FAQs
What does PTA do? PTA raises funds to support teachers, students and faculty. What are some of the things that PTA has done this year? PTA has funded over $700 worth of fields trips, provided over $300 for equipment and schools supplies and provided more than $350 worth of funding for guest lecturers. What does being part of PTA mean? Being a part of PTA means you want to take an active role in your child’s school. It doesn’t mean you are committing to anything other than wanting to help. You can choose how much or how little that time is.
Please feel free to contact our Treasurer (and candidate for next year’s President): Stuart Littler: (480) 226-2023 or [email protected]
