Introduction to ADSF

The science festival is the perfect way to let children gather to a place where science could an entertaining pleasure for the kids.

Most of the parents noticed that the word science always comes with a heavy load of understanding and learning.

But you should not worry because the combine of learning and entertainment has a greater influence on children, making them to think while they are playing

The science festival has visitors about 25,000 students from different schools all over the 7 emirates, without involving the other citizens that come with their children.

Training Day First of all we did a small introduction of

names between the organizers of the festival and us, I actually cant remember any of them except Mr. Tom and Mr. Kenn.

All of us know that if a person needs to learn how to drive he has to get a teacher that will make him learn to drive safely.

So the instructors gave us a lesson of becoming great science communicators, and the important key points are : Being Understandable , Being Engaging .

A great exercise was given to us ( picture phrasing ), we had to replicate the word that the teacher gives us and the audience must know it, my group’s word was “heart surgery”.

On Site Training At this part all of the science

communicators had to have a training day on the site where the work will be, to have a brief idea about the festival and how it will develop.

We arrived to the Corniche at 8:15am, we were told to wait for the organizers to finish there system on the computer.

Until 10 o'clock we haven’t got any response from them about the checking in the system, it was a waste of valuable time, but the time passed by the discussions with my friends and teacher.

At last the registering in the system have been finished and the person that was in charge of us was Mr. Donald, straight after that we went to test the instruments that are held to us (and we had fun doing it)

1st Days In the Festival The 1st day of the festival was a big day to

look up to, in all cases and situations the first day makes a feedback to your boss of what are your capabilities in the work.

When the security opened the gates of the festival releasing its opening, the area was filled with children running around and discovering the science.

Our group was in front of the opening gate so we were the first communicators that started the work.

Without making attentions to people, me and my friends were tired because our usual routine was changed to a tied routine, but the enjoyment was an advantage for us.

The Last Day In ADSF It was a bright morning after a rainy day that made the people happy, and

knowing that it is a blessing from God (Allah).

The last day came and we were exhausted, after 9 days of work, playing with children, and learning new information about science each day.

Although it was the last day of the festival but the children were still coming, the knowledge that is contained in the activities made them come.

ADSF Ceremony Day The Ceremony day meant that the science communicators will get a big

applause from the director of this festival.

A person from each University or College will be chosen as the perfect science communicator representing this University.

All of the communicators that worked in Yas – Du Forum were given a great speech from the director and a bad complement for us, not even mentioning us with a good word.

But we were enjoying ourselves.

How Did I feel ? The feeling that I have gained in the festival was a great feeling, and it

came in my life when I scored a great mark in my high school year.

The entertainment that I lived with the children, and the families that came to learn science was a huge advantage for them and the children.

Conclusion At last I think that this

opportunity will make its influence in the future, it will be usefull when we get employed.

There are other skills that we have learnt from the festival: like time management and schedule priorities in terms of importance.

Children’s joy is a great thing, and the smiles in their faces is a fantastic thing, the festival made them take information in a way that is called having fun
