Abstract
Failure of steel components is a very common phenomenon in a power plant. The corrosion of materials causes great loss in the industrial applications, especially under some extreme conditions of corrosive atmosphere and high temperature. Hot corrosion is a serious problem in , gas turbines, internal combustion engines, boilers and industrial waste incinerators. Coating provides a way of extending the limit of use of materials at the upper end of their performance capabilities by allowing the mechanical properties of substrate materials to be maintained while protecting them against the wear and corrosion. Nickelchromium alloys have been used as coatings to deal with oxidation environments at high temperature. The NiCr coatings are found to be very effective in decreasing the corrosion rate of the uncoated 347H boiler tube steels. So it is planed NiCr(80/20) Powder is applied on the 347H steel with high velocity oxy fuel (HVOF) thermal spray coating process and improves the life of boiler tube steel.
