Instrument Care
The “French polish” shellac finish on this instrument was kept very thin for maximum acoustic response. It will provide little protection against dents and scratches, so the instrument should be handled with care (WATCH THOSE FINGERNAILS!). Shellac requires no special maintenance, other than occasional wiping with a soft cloth. Do not use chemical cleaners. Alcohol will dissolve shellac, and ammonia, strong soaps and chemicals, or excessive heat may soften or damage the finish.
Extremes and sudden changes of temperature and humidity should be avoided. During indoor heating months, an in-case humidifier is advisable to prevent shrinkage, cracking or splitting of the wood.
Absolutely Gorgeous John Clifford Arch-top Ukulele
From Jane Conger - My husband, John Clifford, took a break from guitar-making to make another arch-top ukulele. It's a beauty, and it sounds great! Cheers!
