Business Process Solutions, LLC 1-866-926-9521 About the Ultimate Lean Simulator The Ultimate Lean Simulator is a table top sized machine that mimics a production process; it is designed to effectively demonstrate Quick Changeover and Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED) concepts. This simulator is quite versatile and can be used to demonstrate other Lean Manufacturing concepts such as 5S, waste elimination, kanban usage, and many others. It is primarily constructed ofT6061 aluminum parts and will withstand repeated uses. The system is complex enough to challenge the "students" yet, is simplistic enough to keep them on track to learn the principles you wish them to learn. The Facilitator controls the level of difficulty, making this a very adaptable simulator. All of the required tools used to assemble the machine and to change it from Process A to Process B are included. Additionally, there is a system of "Quick Changeover" components that is included if you are demonstrating principles of Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED). The simulator includes a low voltage system of electrical switches and LED's that can be used to demonstrate andon lights, kanbans, quality start/stop and quick changeover principles. As part of the simulator package you will receive a DVD showing you how to demonstrate the many uses of the system and a facilitator's guide is included with templates and layout suggestions. This simulator is often used as a class project where the team uses it to demonstrate their learning of numerous methods from the Lean training. The team project culminates in with the teams presenting and demonstrating on the simulator how they have improved the simulated factories process including, waste elimination, key performance indicators, lock out tag out, 5S and workplace organization, and other important aspects of continuous improvement. All changes, improvements, eliminations, and projected goals the teams access to the simulation are complied into a team PowerPoint presentation.
