Systems equipped with face type seals must use MPS 895.

The product works in two steps. When the product has reached the face rings in the sealing system the first step is to polish the mating surfaces.

When this has been done, the product builds a self-lubricating layer on the mating surfaces of both sealing rings. This secures the best possible contact between the two sealing rings with perfect sealing effect and almost no wear due to the self-lubricating surfaces.

Systems equipped with lip type seals must use MPS 896.

In case of water ingress, MPS 896 (in its concentrated form) should be pumped into the chambers between sealing rings facing the water filling the cavities to the most.

In case of oil loss, MPS 896 should be admixed to stern tube oil at a rate of 5-10%. The product dissolves in the stern tube oil and travels with the oil to the point where the oil leak is occurring and builds a “dynamic” barrier in front of the stressed seals both in motion and at rest.

Lindemann Marine Stop Leak and Maintenance additives are specifically developed to reduce or prevent leakages in different types of oil lubricated systems. These additives combine the qualities of various minerals and compounds such as i.e. Bentonite and Teflon, which provide extreme corrosion protection, reduce friction and wear and, most of all, ensure superior sealing properties.

Working PrinciplesThe Lindemann MPS Stop Leak and Maintenance products are specially designed to assist the sealing function of all types of seals in all sub-sea systems such as thrusters, stern tubes, steering machines and rudder stems.
