1902 Marcipan is sweet and optimistic

Wilhelm II. he will make it. Proud, am-

bitious, King of Prussia and German

Emperor. Faultlessly, no doubt. Berlin

is a capital like London, Paris or Rome.

The population has already exceeded a

million. Berlin was calling, and every-

one, everyone came. The two pharma-

cists Benno Markus and Georg Lemke

were already there. They produced es-

sential oils and essences and founded

the first Berlin marcipan mass factory

on 18. November 1902. Georg Lemke &

Co. Marcipan from Berlin.

For more than a century Georg Lemke

GmbH & Co. KG has produced sweet

delicacies leading people all around the

world to good taste. Today the Lemke

brand stands for quality, expertise and

tradition!

As a company with tradition, Lemke is

specialized on producing almond pastes

and tailor-made product solutions in

cooperation with our customers using

state-of-the-art technologies. Thanks

1902 Founded in Berlin-Kreuzberg.

1952 Company takeover by Otto Klühe, since then the company is family-owned by Klühe / Hell.

1955 Due to health problems, Otto Klühe can not continue the business and hands over the management of his wife Lillia.

1968 Moving of the production site from Berlin-Kreuzberg to Berlin-Britz and capacity expansion

1977 Edith Hell takes over the management.

1994 Lemke is the first marcipan company certified according to DIN ISO 9000.

1995 Investment in a new produc-tion building and automation of the marcipan production.

1996 Sven Hell joins the company as head of marketing.

1997 Jan Hell joins the company as assistance of management.

1998 Organic-Certification EU.

2002 Lemke celebrates its centennial.
