The tertiary treated
water is disinfected
with chlorine prior to
collecting it into the
treated water storage
tank.
The chlorinated water
is further UV treated
to ensure further dis-
infection of the
treated water prior to
watering the cricket
ground or garden
The BOD at outlet is
less than 10 ppm.Primary Treatment - to remove large solid wasteSecondary Treatment - MBBR process - Aerobic Biodegradation oforganic wasteTertiary Treatment - Polishing the treated water with Pressurized Sandand Activated Carbon Filter
Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) (Chinnaswamy Stadium) is one ofthe prime cricket stadiums in India. They are India's first green stadium. Inthe same spirit, back in 2014, they had come up with a vision to use treatedand recycled sewage water for water their lawns and cricket ground. The wastewater generation at the KSCA premises from the Toilets,Bathrooms, Kitchen, Club house etc. was not deemed sufficient due tofluctuation in the number of people visiting the stadium. Therefore apermanent and consitent source of sewage was deemed necessary tosupport the huge requirement of water for maintaining lawns and cricketground. It was therefore proposed to augment the wastewater inflow to theproposed treatment plant by drawing wastewater from the BWSSB sewer. A300 mm dia sewer runs under the Queens Road, from which inlet pipe wasto be laid by trenchless technology to the treatment plant site. This project was successfully executed by Oasis Renewables and Water
Treatment Ltd. The packaged STP at KSCA is a fully automated one with atreatment capacity of 200 KLD. The sewage is treated by a three stageprocess :
