This initial training course ensures that students are knowledgeable and effective in direct patient care areas such as physiotherapy modalities, proper draping techniques, therapeutic exercises and professional boundaries. Additionally, front office skills such as interpersonal communication, CPT and ICD coding and medical terminology are covered in this course. This program fulfills the Oregon Board of Chiropractic Examiners’ requirements for initial training for certification. Continuing education credit (CE) is provided by University of Western States (UWS) License Renewal: While applications relating to credit hours for license renewal in selected states have been executed for these programs, it remains attendees’ responsibility to contact the state board(s) from whom they seek continuing education credits for purposes of ensuring said board(s) approve both venue and content as they relate to any seminar/course/lecture/webinar/online presentation (event). Neither a speaker’s or exhibitor’s presence at said event, nor product mention or display, shall in any way constitute UWS endorsement. UWS’s role is strictly limited to processing, submitting and archiving program documents on behalf of course sponsors. 2015 Chiropractic Assistant Initial Training Program

Lisa Brooking, LMT - Lisa Brooking started her massage career as a certified chiropractic assistant before completing her studies at Oregon School of Massage. She specializes in relaxation and deep tissue massage techniques. Her focus is on clients who suffer from minor auto accident-related injuries and muscle overuse.

Carrie Ebling, LMT, DC - Dr. Ebling offers effective and gentle whole-body care to help decrease pain and improve function. She has more than 10 years of experience working with the body and helping people to be more comfortable and able to participate in activities that help them thrive.

Sara Mays, DC - Dr. Mays decided to change careers from ecologist to chiropractor due to her experiences as a yoga teacher. Dr. Mays graduated from University of Western States in Portland, Ore. in 2012 and is currently practicing in Beaverton, Ore. Her personal philosophy is to give her patients all the tools necessary to live their best life. When she’s not helping patients achieve their health goals, she enjoys spending time with her boyfriend Daniel and their Labrador Retriever, Mayson. She enjoys hiking, creating healthy food and continuing her decade-long yoga practice.
