First Announcement ABOUT US DEVI AHILYA UNIVERSITY Devi Ahilya Vishwavidalaya is a State Government University which was established in the year 1964 by an act of legislative assembly of Madhya Pradesh. Initially it was known as the University of Indore and the jurisdiction was limited to the district of Indore. Later in the year 1988 University was renamed after the famous and benevolent ruler of Malwa i.e. Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar. University is located in Central part of India and well connected by Air, Train and Roads. SCHOOL OF ELECTRONICS School of Electronics (University Teaching Department) was started in 1990 with funding of Rs. 1 Crore from UGC and Department of Electronics (Now called Ministry of Information Technology), New Delhi. The School took the lead and started number of Innovative courses in the country namely three Full Time AICTE approved M.Tech Programs–M.Tech. (Embedded Systems) (since) 2002, M.Tech (Spatial Information Technology) (since 2007) and (Mobile Computing Technology) (since 2008). The Department presently offers doctoral program and also offers two M. Sc. Programs M.Sc. (Electronics) (since 1990) and M.Sc. (Electronics & Communication) (since 1993). The School, started with 14 students in 1990, now has 154 Students. School’s Alumni are working in top companies such as Intel, GE, Analog Devices, Texas Instrument, Infosys, Philips, Wipro, CMC, TCS, VSNL, Cisco, Samsung, ST Microelectronics, Tata Elxsi, Hughes, and many leading MNCs. The School has fully developed and operational laboratories viz: 1. Embedded Systems(facilities like- NOHAU Simulator, IAR , ARM9 Development System, Texas Inst. DSP Processors ) 2. VLSI Design Laboratory- (facilities like- EDA Tools- Mentor Graphics HEP 1, 2 with 25 users license, Xilinx 9.2, Tanner Tools Active HDL, Synplicity) 3. Spatial Technology Laboratory(facilities like-MATLAB, ArcGIS, Geomatica, GPS Receiver) 4. Mobile Computing Technology Laboratory: (facilities like-Touch Screen based ARM 9 Mobile application development kits based on Win CE and Linux.
