About the Authors
Clas Neumann
Senior Vice President and Global Head, Core SAP Labs Network
Clas Neumann is the Global Head of the core SAP Labs network which in-cludes besides Labs India also North America, Brazil, Bulgaria, China, Hungary and Israel. Having been based in Bangalore for the last ten years, he was instrumental in establishing SAP’s largest Research & Develop-ment hub outside of Germany. He grew it constantly to its current strength of 4,000 engineers, who are responsible for various products and solutions of SAP. In addition, Clas Neumann has held for four years the responsibil-ity as Senior Vice President for SAP’s latest product, ‘SAP BusinessBy-Design’, with teams in China, Germany and India, and he has held the role as the President of SAP Labs India.

In 1995, Clas Neumann joined SAP and worked in many roles across China, Germany and India. Prior to joining SAP he had served in one of Germany’s major regional banks as well as in an ERP vendor start-up. Fluent in Ger-man, English, and conversational in Mandarin Chinese, he holds a diploma of the University of Applied Science in Ludwigshafen, Germany, and a MBA degree from INSEAD, Fontainbleau and Singapore (EMBA 2005).
As a member of SAP’s Executive Leadership Team and of different Ger-man-Indian economic organizations, and because of his business achieve-ments, he has been awarded with the ‘Career 2005 award’ by Germany’s leading economic daily ‘Handelsblatt’.
Clas Neumann is married to Bea and has three children, Celia, Beniyaz and Zarina.
Jayaram Srinivasan
Vice President, Supply Chain Management, Research & Breakthrough Innovation Unit
Jayaram Srinivasan is Vice President of the Supply Chain Management, Research & Breakthrough Innovation unit. He joined SAP in 1997 as a de-veloper, when the company started its operations in India. During the early years, Jayaram developed the country version for India, and he worked closely with customers during the nascent stage of SAP in the Indian mar-ket. In 1999, he managed the extensive growth of the development team as a development manager of the oil & gas solution. In 2003, Jayaram Srini-vasan became Vice President Manufacturing Industries, and he established a project based cross industry development team by leveraging expertise from different areas.
Jayaram Srinivasan has wide experience in different lifecycle stages of product development, ranging from research to customer support. Apart from developing standard software, he holds expertise in industry specific, country specific and customer specific developments. In the last 12 years, he has been managing several strategic global and local projects to im-prove effectiveness and efficiency of SAP Labs India. He has presented on the topic of distributed product development in several internal and exter-nal forums.

Prior to joining SAP, Jayaram Srinivasan had worked for Tube Invest-ments of India for eight years and had had a brief stint for one year in Bah-rain with the Jawad Group.
Jayaram Srinivasan holds a master degree in business administration and has also completed a one-year business leaders program at the Indian Insti-tute of Management, Calcutta.
Jayaram is married to Sharmila and has two children Advaith and Sanmati.
