Conference Background

Keeping in view, the importance of

mineral based products and valorization of

mineral waste in the world, the Mineral

Business Development (MBD-2022)

conference and exhibition is being

organized by a team of experts from the

mineral industry and academia. The main

objective of this conference is to highlight

the major advances in value addition of

minerals and utilization of wastes, which

directly promotes the Government of India

initiative of ‘Make in India’.

Despite having vast mineral resources and qualified technical manpower, India is lagging

behind in the production of value-added mineral products leading to import of several

high-end mineral based products, which can be produced in India. Country offers

excellent opportunities in attracting foreign

investments and in export of value-added

mineral products. With the depletion of rich

grade mineral resources at fast pace it will

become imperative to utilize the low-grade

mineral resources. A logical extension of this

would be induction of latest beneficiation

technologies and processes for value addition.

MBD-2022 will provide platform for mineral

producers, technology suppliers, R&D

organizations and equipment manufacturers to

showcase their latest products, developments in mineral beneficiation, processing and

its commercialization. The conference will seek to highlight the strategic linkage

between the technological and commercial sides of the mineral industry from discovery

to exploitation and manufacture of the value-added products. The emphasis of this

conference will be to highlight the potential of industrial minerals, non-metallurgical

ore products and high-end mineral user industries. This vital industrial area has been

neglected in the country and now it is high time to work on the mineral based industry

and import substitution in India. The emphasis will be given to eco-friendly mining,

waste utilization, mineral processing technology with minimum carbon footprint.

In line with the Prime minister's vision for Aatmanirbhar Bharat ('Self-reliant India' or

'Self-sufficient India'), mining sector and downstream industries should also contribute

significantly to the economy and it is imperative to convert abundant mineral resources

into valuable products. The focus on mineral value addition also fits in neatly with the

Self-reliant India narrative. Beneficiation is another area where mining industry can

bring more innovations. Import substitution and export of value-added products in tune

with Self-reliant India campaign provide ample opportunities for mineral based

industries. Besides, waste valorization brings together the eco-innovation,

environmental responsibility and profitability aspects. By creating new products, it

opens the opportunity for tapping into new and emerging markets, create increasing

income or reducing the cost of company operation.

Main focus of conference is to highlight the major issues & challenges and advances in

value addition of minerals and utilization of wastes.

The organizing committee of MBD-2022 invites mine owners, mineral producers,

technocrats, R&D institutes and entrepreneurs around the world to come together and

interact for the development of this vital industry.

Who Should Attend?

This conference will provide an excellent

opportunity to interact with mineral
