How to enter Sea worldAll our pools within Renfrewshire Leisure have

an Enrolment day system, where you can go along to the pool of your choice and

enrol in a class that has a space starting the following week.

Conditions of the scheme:Each block consists of either eight x half hour classes or eight one hour classes. The blocks of lessons are scheduled around the school term time. All lessons must be paid for in advance, if payment is not made by the deadline date on the re-enrolment information then the space will be offered to someone on the next enrolment day.

What happens after the first block of lessons:Priority is always given to those children that are already receiving lessons, offering them their space in the next block. After the sixth lesson your child will be informed what level they should be in for the next block of lessons. To ensure your child’s place in the next block of lessons payment must be made by week seven of the block, if the payment is not made by the end of week six/seven then your child’s place could be offered to someone else.

If classes need to be cancelled.Very occasionally classes may be cancelled at short notice, which may happen for a number of reasons. In the event of the above it is essential that we have up to date contact numbers, home - work – mobile for every child within each centre. This will enable the coordinator to contact you if the lessons are cancelled.

Each level of the learn to swim scheme is based around a sea world theme to give the young people progression incentives while learning to swim. The sea creatures will be introduced along the way so that your child will be able to identify which level they are in. Each sea creature will guide children through each level to achieve set targets.

As children pass through the levels within sea world they will achieve awards. This will be closely monitored and feedback will be given through a report on the last lesson of every block. This report will slot into your Learn to Swim folder so that you can keep a record of your child’s progress block by block.

Every child is an individual and will learn at different rates, so there is no time period set for a child to be at a level.

Progression to the next level will be made as your child achieves the objectives set for each level. At the end of each block of lessons your child will be issued with a report to enable you to see the standard they achieved throughout the block. It will also identify your child’s strengths and weaknesses to enable the instructor to identify individual development.

Information and conditions for Sea world members parents. • No refunds can be given for cancellation after the block has started. • In the event of long term sickness please contact the appropriate centre. If a space can be reallocated, a refund may be available. • If your child has a medical condition or any disabilities that may affect their swimming please explain this to the receptionist when registering. • Regular visits to the pool will help children achieve the benefits from their lessons. • Spectators are not allowed onto the poolside while the lessons are in progress. • Children must not enter the water or remain in the water outwith their lesson time unless accompanied by a parent. • The use of personal video or photographic equipment is strictly prohibited.

Our Award schemeSea world certificates are issued at the end of each block of lessons to let you see how your child is progressing and also to give your child a sense of achievement. A Seaworld certificate is issued when your child achieves an award.
