Instructional Technology: The design, development and delivery of instruction. Often online but through mobile and classroom instruction as well.

So what does an “instructional designer” do?

Online learning and teaching is part of instructional technology.

Analyze needs of the learning? What needs to be learned? By Whom? Designs the instruction. What should it look like? How should it function?

Develop. Builds the instruction using “easy-to-use” tools.

Implements the instruction. How do we make this instruction work at your company, school or organization?

Evaluates the instruction. Was the learning effective? Did we achieve our goal?
